Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

Wow. I never knew much about him or his site until I came here. I just recently saw a clip of him calling into the Dick Show and it seemed like he was trying to "audition" to be part of the Biggest Debate renewal. He wasn't unfunny, but he was definitely just being a contrarian rather than actually arguing points in a funny way.

I hope he isn't dead, and I hope it wasn't by suicide. Looking back on that clip now, it seems like one last shot at internet fame. Dude may be a lolcow, but deep down he must have been really hurting, much of his own making, which makes it even worse.
He got gifted every opportunity he could ask for and pissed every single one of them away. Fuck him.

Fragmaster has posted a thread and video claiming that Lowtax has died...

Considering that Fragmaster has pretty much retired from Internet life and hasn't posted on SA for years, I'm inclined to think it's not a joke.
RIP you stupid fat bastard.

I actually played Back 4 Blood with lowtax last week, crazy (i was steam friends for years and occasionally would drop into his games)

He was only ever hurting when things didn't go his way and he had to face the consequences of his own actions.

He's been petty and vindictive all his life. It was honestly difficult seeing another outcome.

Edit 12 November 2021: I decided to post my eulogy of sorts in an edit over a new post. If you're actually reading this, why would you go back 60 pages?

So, I never was an SA user. I had a couple of friends in the meatspace that were. I never favorably looked on SA, some of the content was funny like Cliff Yablonski and Awful Yearbook. But I always saw the SA clique as being deeply broken and moorish. A mob of locusts correcting unfavorable behaviors, eating all your spare ketchup packets, and leaving behind the lamentations of the local pedophiles.

Around the mid 2010s, I found myself active on SASS. I recall from discussions there, one previous attempt at renovating the SA forums with a custom built app called Hasselhoff or Titan. LowT paid some loser admin named McCaine to build it, to the tune of 45k a year. No real progress was ever made, but McCaine did take the money and proceeded to dox his BDSM experiences. Once you fall down one rabbit hole, all the others about how many projects came and went on SA inevitably follow. The common thread? How underexperienced and willingly ignorant Lowtax was. He knew he was on a dwindling goldmine, but he never parted with it at its peak. To me, I think the jealousy of 4chan's modest success and his jaded response to buy-out offers must have turned inward, and he found the bottle. And then he shared his pain with those he loved. A trait he would carry out to his last breathing moments on this miserable rock.

In his last moments in life, he couldn't work up the bravery to consider what he left behind. An immeasurable impact on the culture of an entire wired generation, or his own progeny. He was driven by his spite; All that remained when his empire corrupted under rust, patina, and ever changing social movements.

I still am incapable of feeling anything for Lowtax. He was who he was. To his final act.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and those he abused.
