Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I feel like it's too abstract for normies to appreciate (not to mention the fact that the bill is mostly garbage in the first place).

Infrastructure takes months, if not years to get visible results.

Most Americans now are focused on the cost-of-living crisis across the US (not to mention the mandates), which a strong short-term effect that this bill doesn't really address. If this lets up somehow, I do think that they'd back off and start looking longer-term, but that's a 'if'.

It is more that it reassures the rank and file Democrats that party leadership has some idea of what they are doing. Having one of your flagship bills be stuck for six months just makes that "crazy uncle" they have appear to have been correct about Dems being incompetent.

They don't have to understand the bill, just that their team got an infrastructure bill done when Trump couldn't.

I agree that the immediate problem of rising cost-of-living expenses won't be fixed by this but Dems just need people to have a tiny bit of confidence from anything.

Except it won't matter in the long term, because they will be coming back to ask for even more money, and people are going to wonder what these people did with the money they already spent assuming of course the next spending bill still has a "democrat" House majority.

Unless there are some near term improvements that have an immediate positive effect on people's lives (prices on gas, food, and everything else goes down) that they can try to show as somehow being the result of the Infrastructure Bill, it's not going to do shit for his approval ratings.

I am loving this but at the same time why do these guys always set their sights so low lmao imagine the fucking international shenanigans one could pull with a fbi.gov email address. Email kim jong or some shit and tell him JFK was his real dad idk, have some fun with it.
