Gokudou is any criminal organization. Yakuza refers to a very specific organization. Gokudou can also refer to Burakumin, which while often referred to as part of the Yakuza, there is no real connection outside of the modern collaborations. Biker gangs and youth gangs are often referred to as Yakuza, also. While the Yakuza recruit from these gangs, the organizations themselves have no stable connection to any Yakuza clans. Yakuza to Japan is just like how American boomers used to refer to all Islamic terrorists as Al Qaeda or today, ISIS. Most Japanese people are not well-versed in criminology enough to appreciate the distinction. Just like in America, people will refer to the Pirus as being Bloods, but they aren't, they are just tangentally connected to them, so people just use it as a shorthand and end up confusing retards who don't know any better.

Let's entertain the notion that Venus is actually doing all of this willingly. Does Venus have the work ethic or drive that those more "professional" people in that line of work have? She doesn't have the best track record for upholding her business ventures. At least from what we've seen. So while she may have made this choice on her own, its also plausible that she became open to outside "help", from a not-so-scrupulous party. I don't know if She's capable of actually developing any kind of brand independently, thanks to the trauma she faced growing up. While Venus has plenty experience being an online presence, she seems to be trying to cater to a different demographic now, even though both are still based around a certain kind of Japanese pop culture.
I know I was the one who debunked this "she's on uppers" theory before but in case you didn't read back, Venus herself said she was only prescribed Strattera for her ADHD. She lives in Japan, doctors are not going to pass around controlled substances like it's nothing. She is on an anti-depressant that coincidentally may also help symptoms of ADHD. That is what Strattera is. There is no stimulant/amphetamine "feeling" to Strattera. She'd have better luck taking a caffeine pill if she wanted to get wired.
