Lol at the defense walking behind Binger with the unloaded AR and the judge asking for it to be checked again like some assassin is gonna load it at lunch. Look out for the biiiiiiig bad Scawwy Bwack Wifle!
It is kind of basic gun saftey in situations like this. If you are going to be pointing a gun around without the intent to shoot it you specifically do want to make sure it is empty. Every time.
Every Single Time.

Because that is how you don't fucking accidently shoot someone like Alec Baldwin.

"AND I'M GLAD HE SHOT THAT NIGGER"
RICHARD NO

Judging from the size of the sheets of papers Richards is going through, it seems he's close to ending.
Keeping it nice and focused would endear him to the Jury, just keeping to the points that paint the entire 2 hour speech Binger gave as him being a fucking liar would make the jury not pay attention to him for the next 40 minutes of rebuttal.

Does the fact that Richard's very much sounds / presents like a local help him, in contrast with the clearly out-of-town Binger?
Depends on the individual jury. Kenosha isn't some rural dump, it is a fairly large city by Wisconsin standards.

He does come off more honest than Binger's sleaze incarnate.

It'd be funny if it came out later that he was struggling to speak so much because he was only affecting a stereotypical Wisconsinite accent, and he's actually from Jersey or some shit.
