It would also imply that there exists a person with better understanding of his wider audience than himself, which is a tough concept to comprehend and even tougher to accept for a culture warrior like him. The worst blow to a populist has always been to let him embarass himself in front of the widest possible audience. I think he has just enough self-control to avoid that for now, but the real question is, for how long? The Twitch leaks hit him hard, the H3H3 collaborations will let his presence be known to whatever remained of Ethan's older audience, so I think a mental outbreak is pretty much irreversible at this point. I say we got till summer '22 before he snaps live, or goes on a 10-month hiatus of finding himself on a few-hundred-grand vacation.
