maybe I'm wrong in the fact I call dysphoria not an illness at all, but I do think it's an illness that is almost always paired with something else and/or directly causes something else. that's the part that really makes them wanna kill themselves, it's like a mental tagteam

I say without any ridicule those are the people who need real help, but they're not getting it. they're just being pushed further into dreamland and people are too afraid to give them a wakeup call before they go too deep and everyone's just good with that now

There are a lot in my work environment as well (although I don't mind a lot of them, maybe I lucked out). My advice for the bad ones is just mute them on social media, be polite like you would be with a customer if you were in customer service, and don't let them into your actual circle.

The crucial thing to understand is that 99% of "pro-trans" people also act like what I have just described. Everyone raves about trannies, and no one actually wants to be around them.

Seriously I find that gentle disengagement works. Just muting people, saying "My timeline moves fast so I didn't see (whatever the fuck is being whined about)", picking one or two well-regarded and non-nutty ones to be cordial with, who can then stand up for you against accusations of transmisoggyknee.

Also Autogynamelia is hilarious and deserves a whole thread. Believes that she has periods and will tell you all about them. Tweeted once that "Cis women need a womb to have period cramps? Lol amateurs." and not screencapping that for posterity is my biggest Internet regret.

It used to mean that, but now it's just a meaningless label. Women used to say they were bisexual for attention but being bisexual isn't that big of a deal now, so now it's asexual, non-binary, genderqueer, etc.
