At this point it's safe to say at this point that barring the Prosecution winning three lotteries in a row a conviction is probably off the table. Binger did a decent job in closing trying to appeal to emotion by pulling shit out his ass, but Richards incinerated it and Kraus spent half of the rebuttal trying to repair his ego and the other half claiming if a smaller person attacks you while unarmed you need to drop your weapon and get in a fistfight, not sure how you get a conviction when your last words to the jury are that. Best the prosecution can realistically hope for is a hung jury.

Some of you are probably thinking this but I believe Kraus is hoping to appeal to a progressive suburban soccer moms. The same types that wonder why the cops had to shoot and kill a person attacking with a knife instead of shooting them in the leg or arm. That is the only way the majority of Kraus use of force defenses will work.

The way I see it, having a lot of women on the jury can be either a major boon or a major detriment:
On one hand, as we've seen from that Kate lady whose tweets have been peppered in here, you'll scarcely see a more loathsome entity than a insecure childless upper/middle class woman. They're like chihuahuas, horrible neurotic loud things whose tiny useless nature has caused them to develop a burning hatred of everything living.

On the other hand, the kid is 17; for women who have sons, or even younger brothers for that matter, I think they'll be extremely biased in his favor. I honestly don't think they'll be able to bring themselves to convict babyfaced boyscout Kyle unless the evidence was absolutely overwhelming.

Basically I think the fact there are a bunch of women on the jury and this case involves a lot of appeal to emotion means there's almost no chance of a consensus on conviction, and I think a hung jury might be as good as an acquittal because I doubt the case is solid enough for the state to be willing to waste time on a retrial and risk looking like even bigger fools if they still fail to get a conviction.
Plus in terms of social consequences they might even recognize that as the best outcome; the state can shrug and say "Eh, we tried", neither group really gets to declare victory, and hopefully everyone just grumbles and goes home instead of rioting.
