I feel this so hard. I used to love Idubbbz back in the day. Opening up random shit his fans sent him, making Content Cops, and just generally making wacky, edgy, irreverent videos. Then after the Rice Gum videos: nothing. Any sort of passion or talent was sucked out of his content, replaced by someone just going through the motions. I stopped caring about Idubbbz's videos at least a year or two before he made his video defending his cuckoldry. Seeing that video made me think a few things:
1.) I used to like this guy? This whiny, gross, boring jackass?
2.) Idubbbz is a pathetic loser who has no respect for himself nor his girlfriend if he thinks her making amateur porn of herself and selling it online is an okay thing to do in a committed relationship.
3.) The Idubbbz of old was gone. At that point I knew he would never make anything remotely funny or worth watching ever again.
4.) He really hates his subscribers when he condescendingly asked them if they thought it was cool he dressed up like a police officer and did kooky stunts for his most popular video series.
Growing up. having your sense of humor change and mature is one thing. But I'd hardly call it mature to get mad at your audience, the people who got you to where you are now, and talk down to them in an embarrassing video meant to defend your lack of self-respect. It also doesn't help you out when you make boring video after boring video for years after you peaked as a YouTuber.
