Damn. Jazz was supposed to start at Harvard in 2018. I thought he was supposed to start in 2020. Yeah that should set off some alarm bells that a kid is deferring repeatedly. It's not horribly unusual for a kid to take a gap year to work or intern or travel (if it's a rich kid anyway). I was going to shit on Harvard for being weird for a one year deferral but I don't blame them for wanting confirmation that a kid can go to school after having a mental crisis that long.
And I am wondering how Jazz filled the 40 hours work/volunteer requirement. Was it for months? I doubt Jazz was working. Was it a cushy charity desk job to raise awareness on something that doesn't matter or something legit like packing food baskets at the food bank for starving little kids?
That must have been the "internship at a plastic surgeon's office" (Jeanette is on friendly terms with hers) that was mentioned. I was wondering how that fit into her woowoo psychic/LGBTQ+ advocate aspirations...

Jazz graduated from high school and was supposed to start Harvard in 2019, so he "only" deferred twice.

Out of context, I also thought Jazz looked ethnically ambiguous. In context and with siblings, they all just look like your average tanned South Flordia Jewish family. You can spot thousands that look just like them at every JCC from Miami-Dade county on up.

If Jazz needed to defer admission one year, that deferment likely had to give some reason in order to keep the spot, especially as Harvard went remote and a lot of people would have chosen to defer if anyone could just pick up where they left off and attend in person a year later. If they'd accepted every deferment no questions asked, there'd only be half the available seats for next year's class, half would be taken by kids who'd chosen a gap year. One of the big things they will ask you is what changed: if you weren't ready to attend, you shouldn't have applied for that class year. So you would have to show that you had a legitimate reason which changed between the day you applied and the day you had to commit to matriculating. Harvard talks about allowing this option, but realistically only encourages it in any given year for a limited number of students that it thinks will be improved by the gap year.
The obvious thing to say if you were Jazz (or Jeanette) is that Jazz was suffering from extensive mental health issues and needed a year to sort out post-transition complication treatment and mental health services before attending, and that the full extent of these issues was impossible to know at the time of application. But for mental health issues to be that pressing, they need to be more than just a bit of depression or anxiety. Which means it'd make a lot of sense for them to require a psych evaluation indicating that yes, this person's mental health struggles were being successfully treated. I'd guess the community service requirement applies to all deferments, though if you said you wanted to take your gap year to start your startup they might let you dedicate a bunch of hours to that instead. They just don't want kids deferring to spend their whole gap year living it up on the parental funds with no obligations or responsibilities, those kids often won't (forgive the verb choice) transition well to the collegiate environment after a year of hedonism.

No. Not many people (at least on the Paula corner of the internet) discuss Jazz at all. Even before the surgery, people didn't talk about her. The most discussion I've seen of her was regarding Lily Cade's manifesto regarding trans women and how Lily talked about raping and killing Jeanette.
There's been a lot of discourse on trans Twitter regarding that manifesto, I'm sure it's been talked about in the trans happenings thread, but tl;dr: Known rapist calls to kill all trans women and detransition all trans men so they can be breeding stock or whatever. Nobody cares about that latter part unless it's to argue that trans men who have issue with it don't have it as bad as trans women.

Likely wasn't even a desk job. Jazz is a "trans activist", so presumably the shooting of I Am Jazz season 6 (filmed 2019) in which Jazz (read: the producers) organised a charity drag show fundraiser for Noelle and the shooting of I Am Jazz season 7 (filmed 2020) would probably count towards that, along with stuff like the Victoria's Secret/JED Foundation collab where Jazz awkwardly live streamed a conversation with Jeanette and Sander about mental health, helping out with the Smithsonian installing that mermaid tale for their "Girlhood... it's complicated" exhibit, the interview with Variety Magazine or the short lived hosting gig with the NowThisNews originals.
It's a load of bunk but being a vaguely public figure talking about trans stuff would probably look good to Harvard admissions.

I'm already prepping for when the show comes back in two weeks so like fuck if I'm re-watching that horseshit again. Those were innocent years, my darlings.
I'm pretty sure this is the final season. There's no way things will ever improve for Jazz ever again and they're not going to show the obvious decline. They can slut Sander out but, much like Jeanette, no one honestly gives a shit about Sander or his very clear mommy issues.

I really want to know what kind of physical accommodations he has at Harvard.
HAES is easy when you're in a shithole rural area where every other woman wears a size that ends in x, including your own female family members.
HAES is not so easy when you need a special desk and an hour to waddle between classes, especially when your purported peers are skinny and full of energy.
Give me a rainbow but I wonder if he'll peak the people he's in classes with, especially troon classes. I would not be able to look at him and not feel that his grossness (both in the sense of being roumd and the sense of being a walking, talking big yikes) was a direct result of being a troon.
I keep going back to livestock or pet animals.

The recommendation now is to neuter your dog no earlier than 6 months so they can complete their growth first.

And one of the worst parts that I know from personal experience, family experience, and the experience with my dog is that joint problems, mental shit, food issues, endocrine issues, and being tubby all come together like a Voltron of lardassery to make each and every problem worse, and breaking the cycle is very hard for a human and out of the question for a dog.

Yeah I think he'll peak people but mostly through pity. Jazz isn't a violent deranged creep like so many troons, he's childish due to be puberty blockers but he's generally pretty harmless and he tries to be friendly and upbeat, when he's not breaking down and crying. I think his woke classmates will see how unwell he is and maybe have second thoughts about the benefits of childhood transition.
