An actual acquittal would be better for kyle. If he gets off due to a mistrial with prejudice he'll never hear the end of 'you got off on a technicality! the jury never said you weren't guilty!' and it'll follow him for the rest of his life and could have serious consequence for his future education and employment if potential employers start taking the same stance and the usual idiots shit up campus as soon as they hear he's planning to be therei hope the judge just follows through on mistrial + prejudice after it came to light that the prosecution withheld video evidence from the defense after they've already been on thin ice concerning all the other shit they've pulled in the last few days, this way Kyle gets to walk and people can (rightfully) shit on the prosecution for fucking up rather than setting their sights on the jurors.
