I think it is ethically questionable to comment negatively on the handling of a case when doing so prejudices someone who is arguably a former client, depending on how broadly you interpret RPC 1.9 (or its Wisconsin version).

From what I've seen the judge was just naive since the start.

He didn't take the journalist propaganda seriously, so he didn't sequester the jury, didn't police his every statement knowing what journalists do, then he reads the news, doesn't understand why it's so twisted, and still thinks his little rant can fix it, as if the journalists would just go "oh that makes sense".

Exactly this. I personally don't believe that he'll cave to their demands and complaints, and I think this is just a case of a boomer trying to save face in typical, ineffective fashion.

Never mind that he has made the disclaimer many times that you're not meant to take anyone on the panel, especially Nick himself, as considering himself better than the lawyers in court. They are just using what legal knowledge they have to interpret and explain what's going on, and they could very well be very wrong.
