Was the judge pretending to favour the defense because leftist narratives require the illusion of being the underdog? So he can play the redeemed villain in the triumphalist New York Times article once Kyle gets thrown away for 40 years.

Does anyone have a history on this judge? I suspect he changed his ringtone to the Trump campaign theme on purpose to enhance the theatrics. He was appointed by Democrat Tony Earl in 1983 after all, back when that party was radical enough to run Walter Mondale.

Prosecutor Klaus should become a clown after this, really every lawyer involved in this joke of a trial should. But I'll help Klaus out by giving him a stage name, Pogo.

I worry for the sanity of this thread if the verdict comes back guilty. Get some booze in and enjoy the ride, fellas.
considering how everyone was on the "mate this is definitely not murder" in the chauvin thread, it'll go the exact same way. From optimism and hope to sneed posting and disinterest.

Some people need to cool it with the fedposting
First the content of the fed posts have to stop being romanticized.

Chauvin and Kyle's convictions will set down four precedents: that police officers can't restrain criminals, and that if you are attacked in public you can't defend yourself if the attackers support state-sponsored terrorism like BLM. Third, the media decides your guilt and may influence the outcome however they'd like. Fourth, intimidation of juries and even judges is permissable and even politicians can incite riots and violence if the verdict isn't what they want it to be.

It fucked up badly enough with Chauvin, and if it fucks up with Kyle then the Justice System in our country will what little legitimacy it had left.
And some people actually WANT THAT. If only because it’ll mean it’s time for the bodies of bad people to start hitting the floor.

I... don't know if the HD version is going to help anyone. The Ratfucked version is at least vague enough you could interpret it one way. The HD one is more clear, but it's more clear in that it... doesn't really show anything at all.
They don't have fatty in the room to point out Bigfoot Kyle.

Someone from one of my group chats said this

"The defense proposing a Mistrial without Prejudice could be a tactical move. If they move for a Mistial w/Prejudice later, they judge may see a way out by reasoning that the prosecution brought it on themselves by not takiing the offered exit ramp."
They already filed a paper motion asking for a mistrial with prejudice.

Trials of this magnitude honestly need to be held in an undisclosed location
This is what I don't get. The entire justice system is meant to be sacred because you're playing with lives. It's probably the most serious institution in any civilization. Why the fuck would we accept having people terrorizing the jury outside the court and threatening the judge, constant media pressure? It's making justice almost impossible to accomplish. The entire thing should just be dismissed purely based on this fact. If clear and reasoned justice is this difficult to accomplish for all these factors, then why is it even allowed to proceed? It's laughable bullshit. I actually think the Chauvin trial was even worse than this, and this is horrible too.

Doesn't the fact that they're looking at the drone footage show they're still arguing about count 1?

That's the problem, he is -less- bigfoot. He can be seen more clearly, meaning they will see a slight shrug of his shoulders and him dropping the fire extinguisher. And nothing else. Without any of the extra pixelation, it actually gets -less- distinct.

But will they see him pointing a gun?
