Jack has always seemed like he's happy to be there, and has always done a lot of fan engagement (no Katie jokes plz)

He's been a consistent presence from the start too. Gavin and Michael (particularly Gavin) are usually away a lot.

even if you don't like him ( I don't, he was the weakest member of the original crew/ in general until whenever Lindsay appeared in videos regularly) that sets him apart from the rest of AH. either now or in the past. Not difficult to see why people like him.
He's a soybeard cuck whose political outbursts and massive simping for companies has rightfully pushed many fans away.

He is only the "best" because everyone else who was better left and was replaced with people worse than him or better members have long periods of absence. Even then, few people actually like this shill.

God, I wish he’d been the sex pest and not Ryan.

Other than his phase where he was whining endlessly in videos about people fucking him over in games/being incredibly boring when playing the games he's been popular in the fandom. I don't have to like it to accept it. He's popular at community events and has been a driver of them, and is generally popular online too, just not to the height of other people.

His outbursts were fine when he was one of the two people who were overtly political there. Joel was the kooky libertarian, Jack was the kooky liberal. Now it's the entire identity of the company, where being funny and engaging is secondary. I can't put that down on him, no one was paying him heed before, so I doubt he was the one that successfully made the case that the company should get so involved in the neverending online culture war shitfest.

I agree with the second line in your paragraph (even though I never called him the "best") he does skate by on being one of the old crew while not usually offering much himself. but not with the idea that he's the sole or even main reason why people are turning off. He's too bland for that shit, people left because there are several people there now who somehow ended up being either blander or angrier versions of him without any kind of enthusiasm for doing the job or general community engagement,

tldr Jack is not an issue by himself and he had his role to play, but there are now 7 or 8 Jack Patillos at AH (and most of the on screen people at RH) now which is the problem.

"What's stupidest shit I can put on my body?" Can we make tattoos permanent again? So these people actually have to live with their stupid tattoo decisions?
Technically they're permanent on the right skin, cause scarring. Even then it costs and hurts more to remove them depending on the procedure, and you better hope that laser doesn't scar your skin, too.
This is someone's son...
Their wife's son.

It’s like every time you hear about tattoos, you hear about another reason to never get one.

I hate to deter people from getting them, but in thinking that, you should be focused on finding a design you want, and not some random shit you could get cause it's cheap and the artist has done a thousand times. Chances are this troon saw a design they've done, wanted it, and got it in the dumbest place they could. Then again I'd be depressed too if all I did was follow a crowd.

Fully agreed, I have only one tattoo, it's something I put together years ago and spent a long time drawing it out, I then printed it out and put it in my wallet so I'd see it every day, I kept it there for two years giving me time to think it over, make sure I didn't get sick of it or find a flaw in the design, I spent six of those months shopping around, talking to tattoo artists and reviewing their work. Finally got it done and three years later I still love it.
People who walk into a tattoo parlour and pick something off the wall are... fine, I guess. But it's not for me. It's unique to me, it's come out really nicely and I don't regret it. I can't imagine everyone who takes the standard designs feels the same way.
Also, get it somewhere you can hide it. You never know when you'll need to but never preclude anything.

The “design I want “ thing is also part of it, alongside the “permanent” aspect even if not as much, but seeing the quirky designs and placements I see from a generation that grew up on MySpace certainly doesn’t help matters.

I don't understand people who just get any random, meaningless design tattooed on their body, like that stupid fucking car on his/her/whatever's leg. Completely pointless. Not hating on tattoos as a whole, I have one too, but JFC put some thought behind something so permanent.

I wonder if Jack and Michael have ever thought about their future. Do they really expect to be recording themselves playing video games 10 years from now when they will be nearing 50? 20 years from now? Etc. What is their next step? Have they wisely invested the money they have made and can retire at 50? Even if RT wasn't circling the toilet, it just seems like this isn't exactly a career to have in your 40's, 50's, and 60's and that is not even getting into technology changes and whether Lets Plays will even be a thing years from now.

I'm guessing them still being full-time at AH after all these years is where you'd find your answer. It's most likely no. Or maybe they truly still love their jobs.

Update from the Funhaus subreddit, it seems that the recent discussions and well wishes for Adam Kovic has gotten under the skin of those still on the sinking ship that is Funhaus.

After a number of posts promoting Adam's new book "Rook" and general return to the internet, which the mods and subreddit as a whole seemed positive to, Omar put up a comment that adds zero new details, but vindictively implies that they want Adam to fail

This direct comment from Omar (was an editor and generally unfunny personality) was enough to push the mod team to ban all future posts about Adam post leaving Funhaus.

The dumbest part about all of this is the refusal to actually explain what Adam did was so horrific. It's all just pearl clutching about something too terrible to even vocalize, just take our word for it.

Additional comment by another editor, John Holland, basically categorizing anyone who disagrees with the change as an ugly minority (ironic) paired with another dose of "think of how bad it must be if we refuse to talk about it"

Omar seems like a smart and thoughtful guy who is good and professional at his job, I have a lot of time for his input on the situation.

Suck shit to Adam for losing one of the best advertising avenues he has for his current and future shirty projects, as well as all goodwill from his former colleagues and hopefully the fh fan base.

Oh and I recommend thst the writer wipe his keyboard done whenever Kovac has been alone in a room with it.

Last thing from RT I saw was an episode about "Can your ass breathe??" where they convinced the omega of the group to humilate himself for the show

What about Omar strikes you as "smart", his purchasing of overpriced shoes?

"What Adam did was horrible, absolutely terrible. It was beyond words. No, we can't tell you what it was, just imagine how awful it was."
