That used to be virtually sure fire but those days are long gone in most jurisdictions. They had so many jurors (all democrats) write back to explain that they were dead that they had to adjust their methods.

Of all the reasons for the jury to still be deliberating, "they want their own homes and businesses to burn" seems less likely.

jury members must be upstanding citizens so probably are local business owners or have vested interest in not getting the city burnt again. voting not guilty might mean one more riot, but guilty verdict has implications leading to unlimited rioting in future as nobody will try to stop it for fear of the law itself

I have to dismiss the rumors because they are unfounded. That being said, my own demographics analysis says its not impossible.

The problem is, all these rumors started swirling around the same time, which indicates a single source. The earliest source is the reddit post whose credibility is "Bro, trust me".

#54 has girly handwriting, so unless #54 is a troon, I'd believe them being a white woman until the Jurors are doxxed because I unironically believe that will happen now. It's not a case of will they or won't they, I'm pretty sure they will.

Because I'd argue that if Barnes was as smart as he says, he'd have not got himself kicked and would have been able to convince them to use his resources.

He was also going on about using graphology ("you can tell a lot about a person from the tail on their q") to evaluate the jury note; he's been vocal in criticizing Richards and Chirafisi for not doing jury selection properly but if those are the methods he uses I'm glad they got rid of him.

Seven of the 12 jurors are women. The chance of the jury foreman being female is over 50%.
