Yeah, it's almost like making it harder for the police to do their jobs causes the crime rate to spike. So much for defunding it.

Hey, don't you know the only job of judges in a DEMOCRACY it to legislate off the bench using flimsy interpretations of the the law?/kyle/ - 19th century asymmetrical warfare general
Hell, with these standards of behaviour and "proof" of guilt in a televised setting with the world watching, I would not be comfortable supporting fines from day-to-day courts, let alone the death penalty. America and Europe may as well just ask newspaper owners what the penalty for each individual case should be, and apply that - it's just as fair, it doesn't waste the talents of clever people who need to memorize laws and procedures which don't matter anyway, and it offers some transparency in a way the current system doesn't.
I meant Steven Avery. James would've won lifetime pardon in one game of pool.Wait, Uncle Phil is in prison?
And I bet Coach Bag Lady unironically thinks she's a champion of the poor. (She should also return that jacket she stole from Razorfist.)
Really hoping that's not true, because it would have meant that we were far too optimistic about the average individual. It goes without saying that the prosecution case was a Krause sized pile of shit, filled with shoddy witnesses, dirty to blatantly ridiculous tactics and lacking either the facts or the law on their side. That is not opinion, it is objective that their case was garbage. If they had a stronger case in fact or law, they would do a better job that relying on 240p footage to set up a bogus narrative of provocation while withholding the better footage. Not sure if this is true or not, and not sure if already posted, but here it goes:

It feels like some screwball 80s comedy where everyone involved has been paid off to lose, so as the trial progresses they're constantly coming up with increasingly crazy gambits to tank their own side.

If it is deadlock 6-6, then people put way too much stock in the average person being able to see through the bullshit of the prosecution to cover for their weak case.
No, the defense didn't verbally object but even the judge pointed out Richards was shaking his head. For Richards that was an unbelievable outburst of emotion. Lunchbox and Flufferboy didn't respond at all. Both parties agreed and the judge gave her permission to take the papers with her so imo nothing of that is going to happen.
Near guaranteed that they not abstain from media and stick solely to what was said in the trial, especially for a case as high profile as this. Jurors are notoriously bad and do all sorts of ridiculous shit completely unrelated to the trial.Hyperreality means that the jury wasn't watching the trial, it was watching the trial's coverage as digested by the media (I don't believe for a second all jurors abstained from television and social media in the entire period of the trial), and the real trial that happened in the media before the jurors ever met. Tucker showed some MSNBC guy talking of Republican political violence and mentioning Rittenhouse, saying that the entire Trump presidency was nothing but antisemitic and racist terror attacks by emboldened Trumpists. This is more real to people than the fires in their cities. Baudrillard was right.
i wouldn't even call it doing research in this case because even if they just do nothing at all and simply go about their normal daily routine at home in between trial sessions, that still means that they're exposed to media propaganda. radio in the car while driving, TV running in the background at home while doing chores, news app on phone visible whenever they text or call someone, etc. and then there's stuff like radio or TV being blasted at you in public places too. to prevent the news from tainting the jury, you would have to basically lock them up in juror prison for the full duration of the trial - and that might still not be enough in a case like this because the situation was already getting broadcast across the world the day it happened, which was a full year before jury selection even began. Now those cases are the extreme, but doing things like going home and doing "research", probably the norm for a lot of these jurors. According to this 12% of all UK jurors admit to doing own research at home, in all likelyhood it is far higher than that, how many jurors will admit to not following the rules laid out? Now imagine it being in woke 2021, with the internet, in a high profile case that is being followed around the world?
Unless there's like 4k video of the defendant raping a baby and you can see the persons face clearly and they shout out "My name is John Smith and I'm raping a toddler!" I pretty much agree. This shitshow has somehow made prosecutors jump above politicians, glowies, and pedos in my "groups that should be fed into a woodchipper feet first" list.Something just occurred to me. After seeing the prosecution’s behavior in this trial, I no longer believe in the death penalty.
Oh me. Oh my. You just hit the nail on the head. I can see it now...
A broadway show. We could call it, I don't know?
THE PROSECUTORS
A LAW SCHOOL SCANDAL
We might even be able to shoehorn in a bit of Adolf Hitler (dumbguy and evo will be cockahoop about this)!
I can see it now. The lights, camera, action -

Not just a film, but a musical!
It'll never catch on. It's bound to fail. Nobody would ever buy that shit! It's perfect.
Let's just assume that for a moment, you are a dishonest man...
The shooping possibilities are endless with this one.

The whole thing was motivated by dumb strategic decisions, though. They thought their near-monopoly on the production of cotton as a raw material made the rest of the world dependent on them to the point that the Brits and French would actually side with them over the North.Towards the end of the war, in particular, they made some really dumb strategic decisions though. For instance, there wasn't really anything stopping the confederate army from just taking a sharp southeast turn at Gettysburg and sacking both Washington and Baltimore, which would have been something the Union would likely not have been able to recover from.
Sorry to be a double-posting faggot but that kid not being in jail while a kid who said a fucking joke of turning his school into gravel literally in Runescape got like 8 years fills me with a very distinct sort of rage. Imagine getting thrown into jail for most of your 20s for a joke you make in Runescape while trash like this making potentially credible threats don't have shit done to them.![]()

Bari Weiss says Democrats and mainstream media convicted Kyle Rittenhouse on a campaign of lies to suit their liberal agenda before the case went before a jury
View attachment 2730457
- Bari Weiss, writing on her Substack newsletter Common Sense, laid bare some of the lies told by the media and Democrats about Rittenhouse
- She said she'd been led to believe Rittenhouse was a racist vigilante out for blood on August 25, 2020, when the trial evidence suggested otherwise
- Rittenhouse does have a connection to Kenosha - he worked there in a sports center at the time and his father, grandma, aunt, uncle and cousins lived there
- He wasn't driven across state lines by his mother carrying an AR-15 as had been claimed, but stayed the night with a friend beforehand
- Weiss said media and Dems like Cori Bush and Ayanna Pressley ignored the facts to rush to judgement
- The jury in the Rittenhouse case has now been deliberating for two and a half days
- Weiss quit The New York Times last year after growing tired of its left-wing bias for cancel culture
- She is now starting a new university in Austin to counteract woke colleges across the country
