I don't know about this. I want to believe it, but I have doubts.
What I think is happening here is that her therapist told her to take a break from YouTube and go see her family. But Chantal is Chantal and can't go without a social media hit, so she opened up her Facebook. And she can't go without asspats, so she turned up at her mother's birthday and spent the whole time talking about how she's an "abused woman" and asking them not to post photos of her anywhere because abuse. Big scary abuser who got princess hooked on drugs and used her for her money and cheated on her and has stabbed his exes before mustn't know where she is for her own safety.
Or something like that. Unfortunately, I think her family will keep taking her back as long as she shows some sort of improvement or can fake making an effort at self-reflection or whatever. Not because they really care, but because it's a habit at this point: Put up with Chantal's abuse (and she IS abusive), wait for her to have a crisis, do their damnedest to get her through the crisis, pretend to believe her when she says she's "working on things," lather, rinse, repeat. If she can tell them she's actually "in therapy" to work on her issues (drugs especially) then they'll probably give her a 10,000th chance.
Families are suckers and addicts know it. Whether she's on pills or not, she's hooked on food and has been for decades.
