Its wild. Before this case the dude was a no name county judge a few years from retirement with decades of venerable service to the law. He sold cookies for the clerks kids from the bench, had "proud to be american" as his ring tone and had no fucking idea what a 4k TV was.

And then this massive celebrity trial got dumped in his lap. Suddenly everything he did and said was being scrutinized by powerful political interests groups thousands of miles away. But then it got worse. He actually came face to face with outright State Malice. A bad faith prosecution that challenged everything he believed about the American Judicial system. which put him in the horrifying position of shutting the trial down himself, or trusting the Jury system.

He went with trusting the Jury, which many onlookers felt was a mistake. But his trust was rewarded. When he told that Jury they were an exemplary example of the Trust the founders of the nation had put in them, he meant it. When he said "defense motion granted and the case is dismissed with prejudice" you could hear the joy.

It really pisses me off reading stuff like that. But today’s not verdict guilty proved. That most people are sane and rational. The really loud outspoken crazy people. The ones that show up to rallies and scream on Twitter and just seem like they want the world to burn. They aren’t the majority. When it really matters - this jury was made up of normal everyday folks. That live in that community. Who work normal jobs. And probably aren’t all that political. We might not scream and cry and protest and get loud of on Twitter. But when it comes down to it. Most people are just living their life and are sane and normal. And when those sane and normal people are called to a jury. They uphold the good and rational laws. So today was a win. Nice posting with y’all. You know what I really love about this tweet, he didn't mention the one BLM example that I fully agree with that side in that his death was 100% unnecessary, Philando Castile.

For those who don't remember Castile was pulled over by the police and while he was explaining that he had a CCW the cop panicked and shot the guy.

To be fair the jury did not convict the cop of wrongful death. So perhaps if I fully knew what the jury learned what happened my opinion would change. But from what I know the guy was just trying his best to follow the law and wrongfully died for it.

This happened in Minneapolis and I would have been far more sympathetic to BLM if they burned the city in the name of Castile. But instead they made Thug Floyd their patron saint which leads me to believe they didn't care about Castile because he was a gun owner.
