Agreed, but lets not forget the tough time George Zimmerman had to go through (and is still going through), with an attempt on his life he survived after the trial. I guess it depends on who he surrounds himself with and if he maintains a high profile for the grift monies.

The book is pretty awesome. When I read it, I didn't get the impression Heinlein was trying to wank to or press for the particular system, especially since it only arose in response to a particular set of in-universe circumstances.
