It'll be an uphill battle to sue Rittenhouse. This is one of the reasons I'm happy I work for a small business where me and the boss have very similar views. It's stories like yours that convince me to stick around here even if a larger company would get me better pay. I'll take a few dollars per hour less as payment to not have to deal with some dumb as fuck karens.
Sadly, I can see someone trying to sue Kyle, especially after they divvy up the bond money.
People point to the Simpson civil lawsuits as proof, but seem to forget that Simpson was guilty as -fuck-, and only managed to get off on several technicalities and a really, really good legal team. The whole "if the glove doesn't fit, you should acquit" meme. This resulted in the evidence against him being below the criteria of Beyond a Reasonable Doubt but above the criteria of Preponderance of the Evidence. Or to put it in numerical terms, criminal courts require 95% certainty, Civil Courts require 51% certainty, and Simpson had 80% certainty.
Rittenhouse has no such issue. The only reason there was a chance for a Guilty verdict here was politics, not the status of the evidence. And any civil suit would necessarily be individual for single counts. Letting any competent civil defense attorney just laser focus on it and nuke it from orbit.
So in short, they can try. It probably wouldn't even survive a summary motion.
