And that is what disgusts me the most about Chantal. She is not a victim. She has had all the power in their relationship. She's chosen to go back time and time again. She is not financially dependent on this man and has no ties to him. She has a large family and friends (well at least one) that would be there for her and would support her.
She has NO IDEA what it is like to be trapped in a relationship where you are used as a personal punching bag because you don't have anyone to help you or anywhere to go. She does not know what it is like to live in fear, to stress over every word you say because you are afraid you will say the wrong thing.
And as disgusted as I am by her sickening "poor me" bullshit I still don't wish that life on her.
I do not know how anyone that has ever lived that sort of Hell can pity and coddle her. It truly makes me sick.

He talked about Mae a bunch too but fuck Mae is boring and I wasn't paying attention. The only thing I remember is that he told Mae he had to go get a condom but that was just an excuse to leave. However, Mae followed him (somewhere) and so he told her to leave wherever they ended up and he knows that is recorded on camera. When he was telling this story about the camera he kept pointing towards his door and saying the camera is up there, but I'm not sure if he actually meant at his apartment or just above the door of wherever they were.

Mae started out saying that he came over, didn't say hello, proceeded to ravage her, then left. Now she's talking about a condom. Did he enter the room already wearing the condom then ravaged her, took off the condom and left it there? Or did he put on the condom after he arrived (which would have given her plenty of time to escape)?

It looks like the truth lies in the middle. It started off consensual. For Nader it was a wham bam, thank you ma'am situation type deal. The only kind of sex Nader knows is rough sex. Mae wasn't expecting that and wanted to be romanced. She became a woman scorned.

Why is this so hard to believe? Peetz himself has admitted that he seldom showers, and he looks it. Since he never leaves his room, what point would he see in doing laundry (or showering)? We have two completely different stories here, it's crazy.
She said, he kind of held her hostage, he kept her car keys so she couldn't leave.
He said no, why would he do that (in his livestream).

She says, she's trying to break up with him but yadda yadda.

Nader hates Chantal, but he hates the fact more he needs to depend on her. He needs her to pay his rent, he needs her to film, he needs her to edit, he needs her to buy the groceries. Chantal has been trying to buy his love for six months and that can't be bought. Sure, he is probably nice, well what he considers nice, when he needs her to do sumthing for him, but once that is done he has no reason to continue.

Chantal was suppose to be a one night slampig. Edit to reply to @Guntanator. I saw someone talking about that and some good points were made. Usually dv have children and finances tied to them. It's not easy to just up and leave with nothing. But Chantal has nothing to tie her to him. She goes there on her own willingly. These couples also have history, they remember when times were good. Most people don't show the real them until later. Nader showed her who he was the very first night. They usually have years of memories, favorite restaurants, vacations, songs, special spots, inside jokes, mutual friends, etc. Chantal and Nader have a three day visit to Toronto. Heck they have never even been to a restaurant in the town they live in. She isn't trapped, she has options. It's mind blowing her chat was telling her to go to a DV shelter. Thank you! That is basically my point about Chantal milking this whole DV thing. Yes she is in a cycle with Nader but it is not for the "usual" reasons. The scraps of validation she gets from him are what keeps her in this cycle. Many DV victims are "stuck" with their abusers for financial reasons or lack of support but Chantal is just plain stupid.
