It's pretty good. It has a charcoal taste similar to Jack Daniels but doesn't have quite the same burn going down, which is surprising considering that it's 100 proof which is on the high end for most big brand whiskeys.

FWIW, it's easily my favorite budget rye.

It was, yes. State's argument was effectively "it's moot" then the Judge just said "defense's motion is granted." This opens the door for prosecutorial misconduct.

It also explains the wink from the Judge. If he had granted that before the Jury verdict, it would be open to appeal by the state. After the verdict, it is not. Flufferboy and Lunchbox are fucked.

Just wanted to say I've rewatched the verdict multiple times today because it really was a magical moment. I bet Kyle is in shock and the reality will really sink in the next few days. Unfortunately, he's going to have to wait a few months until people forget about him and leave him alone (both right and left). From his behavior and his alleged PTSD from the incident, I don't think he'll take any of the internship offers from the GOP. Instead, he probably just wants to be with his family and move on from his life.

The Internship offers would, amongst other things, give the GOP the ability to assign him security. As it stands, 24 hours after the trial ends, his state protection also ends.

It's a tactic, actually. They know they can't come out and say "we must repeal the 2nd amendment" because they don't have support for that. So instead they're just taking slow, deliberate slices off of it by making wedge issues and breaking down the edges. The end result in by 2050 or so your 2nd Amendment will be academic, because you won't be allowed to own anything other than a pistol with a single round of ammo, both of which you have to store in different locked locations and are not allowed to take them in public.

Yes. I try -really hard- to give people the benefit of the doubt, to put myself in their shoes. In this case though... they have been fed the narrative that Rittenhouse went to a BLM rally from Illinois to Wisconsin, armed with a drum magazine and an automatic rifle. He deliberately hunted down and killed 2 black men and shot a third. Then turned himself in and when it came time to try him in court the white jury found he was not guilty, because they all think Black lives are worth that little.


And they believe this, unflinchingly, unthinkingly, and without hesitation as to a single element of that.
