Absolutely but given this "game" is wildly dramatic and edgy I wouldn't put it past it to have a flash forward at the end. Assuming the guy who's behind it doesn't give up after the next episode.

Clearly, the story is about how Haze is some weirdo clone/product of the Stratum thing implanted with false memories to believe he’s a good guy when in reality he’s a sociopathic killing machine, like another product the Jesus rapist. Also, the Crazy Sword Bitch and Craig are too, Charon is a recovered super soldier, and his sister is actually the ultimate super soldier but needed trauma to truly become evil or some shit

That would make a lot more sense than whatever edgy story the developer is coming up with. It'd also explain things like why Haze's dad is a fat fuck Agent 47 while his mother is an old ass woman with both being drug dealers and Haze having a ridiculous name while there exist a crazy sword bitch and an edgy looking Jesus Rapist but it's more likely gonna be the authors own world views condensed into more edgy shit about society and humanity.

I’d argue is one of the most edgy games …on steam.
It’s edgy but in a fedora tipping “I’m 14 and this is deep Reddit sense”. He’s not edgy in quoting unpopular crime statistics but it is edgy in how he is “filled with hatred” and will murder anyone who gets in his way and doesn’t love anyone and wants to be alone (“GET OUTTA MY ROOM DAD”).
It’s very much a time capsule, since a large bulk of the work was done around 2012~2014 so it was before the hyper self-aware time we have online now. Jacob doesn’t understand that he made some hyper revealing “art” that speaks more about him than it does anything else.
Jacob is Haze, and we all know someone like him back in highschool. A perpetual white trash loser who keeps getting into trouble with the law but also fetishizes the police and thinks that he can become a police officer. He knows he could never become a police officer so as a cope he becomes a “vigilante bounty hunter” in his fiction.
By the way this is true, in community college he studied psychology and minored in “bounty hunting“, this was in the Google doc. He didn’t finish it because he was busy getting addicted to opioids and begging his developers to send him cash to pay for his “medicine”.
He comes off as a guy who peaked in highschool, had a baby at a young age with another white trash woman he would never marry and only manages to get minimum wage jobs and does drugs. Granted Jacobs a little bit higher than those guys because he has actually made a game, even though taking 10+ years to make an RPG maker game is a level of exceptionalism I can’t even begin to comprehend.
