The job of the police isn't to keep the peace or protect you. It's to enforce the goals of those in power.

Yes, I know that. It's just that district attorneys and the politicians who control them don't tend to patrol streets directly, especially when shit goes down, so the cops who show up are the only ones people can scream impotently at.

That was also hyperbole -- over-the-top exaggeration for comedic effect. I doubt anybody's pulling up fucking twitter to shove in a cop's face during a riot hoping to goad them into making an arrest (unless they're a dangerhair, but those mostly shy away from cops).

That guys whole twitter is weird. There's another video in that thread of the car running over some saw horses past some cops, sounds like gunshots too, can't tell if it was cops or driver. None of the videos have enough resolution to see what state the plates are from.

Kia Soul? I heard it was a Ford. Although from personal experience I can tell you Kia owners like to plaster their cars with political stickers, usually of the Biden/Harris variety.
