I guarantee you the prosecution had dirt on the Carsource owners and these two were trying to cover their own asses. It's almost impossible for businesses like that to run squeaky clean in economically depressed areas. At the very least, they may have been threatened with liability since they were the ones pointed at as having summoned Kyle and his friends there.

The question is whether Binger (or some other prosecutor) is going to string them up on whatever it was.

Aye, I don't disagree. But, bear in mind Conservative Inc vultures is salivating at the prospect of milking the Kyle for their grift, and I don't think he has anyone on his side (aside from Hard R, who isn't even his lawyer anymore after the trial) wise enough to tell them to fuck off, unfortunately. If he's going to do interviews or public q&a of any sort (which he shouldn't, imo), he has to be prepared to answer some form of, "Do you support racial justice movements?" He can only give one answer to this if he wants to rebuff the 'white supremacist' narrative.

He's also literally the age of a high school senior and isn't likely to have a very complex ideological worldview yet. If he does have any sympathy for BLM as an idea, I imagine his formative life experience of getting shafted by a corrupt prosecutorial system could have pushed him that way. Black people get run through the prison system quite a lot, and obviously will encounter a lot of corrupt prosecutors like he did. While the real problem is that it's poor people who gets fucked, and black criminals tend to have no money for defense, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't understand the economic nuance of the problem and instead saw a racial aspect.
