I have never been open to NFTs on principle for a few reasons.
1) Every NFT sale I see looks so fucking low effort and unappealing.
2) Every person who pitches an NFT run answers "no" when I ask if they'd actually buy one.
3) Most users on the site can't even figure out crypto.
However, my opinion has been skewed recently.
1) I like money.
2) Stonetoss sold 5000 for $500ea (0.085 ETH) and sold all of them in 22 minutes for $2.5m.
3) It was suggested that people outside the community would be interested in NFTs from a community that's considered high risk.
In general, NFTs are hideous and lazy. I don't know why. Here are examples from successful franchises.

That's not a joke. They're generated procedurally by combining layers and for some reason people pay a lot for this.
I have described Stonetoss's sales as cynical but in comparison with the competition they're clean and distinct.

Doug Tenaple of Earthworm Jim fame also sells NFTs for $90 each and they come with the dignity of an actual artist associated.

The Flurks Ethereum contract is public. The gist is is that you buy into the contract, get a bunch of random attributes assigned, and then the contract owner can fulfill them by randomly generating items that match those attributes using a tool that combines transparent layers. The image is hosted on IPFS.
What you get in exchange is the IP rights to those image and the digital receipt saying that you own it, as well as the ability to transfer that ownership to anybody else.
So, do you guys think doing something similar would be worth it?
One of the merch artists came up with this as an example. Basically, a generic kiwi base, and then attributes could be stuff like color/eyes/beak/feet for base swaps, hat/shirt/accessory layers on top, and background/foreground layers.

The downside is that this is just a community thing. I can't really make special versions for a bunch of grifters to help sell them because everyone outside of the community fucking hates me and hates us and hates this website and the people who shilled for Stonetoss want the shit you guys say about them to disappear forever.
P.S. Also open to discussions about price points, mint quantity, and what tech to use. ETH is the most popular but gas fees require higher prices.
