Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I think the premature aging presidents typically get is from realizing they're puppets of the Neo-liberal order and betraying all the values they had when they started their careers.
Might also be all the wars for the MIC they wage. Doesn't explain why Bush didn't look as bad as Obama when he left office.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin is going red... Governor and AG decided to commit political suicide by coming out more or less against the verdict.
Neolibs will always make stellar political moves like theis won't they?
Black Friday is pretty soon, right?
I hope that all the shortages and shipping issues and missing truckdrivers have been sorted out by then.
People are already a bit unhappy about shortages and the price of gasoline, lets pray that they don't get disappointed come Black friday too.

Would be fun with pictures of wallmart shelves that are empty because the cheapo shipment of black friday tv-sets got delayed and instead have stickers with brandon "i did that" on the empty shelves.

If black friday gets fucked up, that will make a lot of people unhappy.
Very much so. People love their bread and roses. Remember when sports got woke and suddenly all sorts of people began tuning out, or when Hollywood went full insane with TDS and their viewership for Oscars tanked. People don't like when their entertainment gets political and antagonistic, and they won't like it when they have to arrange breadlines and their government gaslights them.
This SNL bit is pretty good at showing horseshoe theory

The only vaguely humours SNL skit I've ever suffered witnessing.

Already been happening for awhile and the rift between the old school DFLers and the woketards came to the forefront with the Minneapolis Police question this year. With that, Walz, Klobuchar, and Tina Smith all came out against the initiative passing while Omar, Ellison, and a loooooot of the state level reps came out in support of it. A huge number of the DFL state reps are leftists now. The police question failing means it will be interesting to watch if the old school DFLers can throw out the woketards. There was an independent DFL caucus that formed last year in response to the woketards taking over a large chunk of the party, but I believe it remains small.
Interesting. If the wokies truly are taking over the DFL, then we may see the result in the 2022 midterms in state legislative seats.

Are there numbers for "I can't stand my woke (Democrat) neighbors anymore?" I was wondering if that was higher than not liking your politicians.
Generally higher than I dislike my state's politics, but still rather low. Usually just leads to moving somewhere else within the state.

Look no further then why Texas, Tennessee, and Florida are booming. They all have low taxes low cost of living and cheap real estate.
Correct, it is why I roll my eyes at people complaining about the exodus from California. By the numbers, it's 2-1, and high as 3-1 conservative to democrat leaving.

I have seen people on this thread saying that Trump looks better than ever now. I thought it was just hyperbole but... seriously, how many virgin-blood baths does this man take every day? Sure, he looks wrinklier now compared to 2016, but he doesn't look much worse. Compare him to Obama, who had the benefit of having been elected pretty young, but left looking 20 years older. It was one term vs. two terms but Trump is considerably older than Obama.

His personal aesthetician must be making bank.
I would say "good genes." My grandmother lived to 105 despite smoking for several years. And she was still more coherent than Biden for the most part.

Replacing the spray tan for the actual sun, eating better, and getting more active exercise go a -long- way to improving one's health. All three are also things most older people, let alone Presidents, just stop doing which does not help the aging at all.

It's single-handedly what got Trump my vote come 2024. He wants to get back in and has now proven to have the discipline necessary to do what must be done. This would have required a significant lifestyle change. Something that is very hard to stick to, especially for older people. It proves, without a doubt, he is serious about it, despite his somewhat abrasive demeanor.

Bush didn't betray his values; he was 100% on board for the forever wars.

discpline wasn't trump's problem. it was the poisoned rino pill with preibus and ryan. Mitt Romney's neice is running the RNC, so trump is in the same position he was in 2016 when he wins.

McDaniel has actually been supportive of Trump since day one, including pointing out and supporting the Voter Fraud narrative. So much so she made it clear she'd support the Republicans in NJ if they wished to push forward on that.

I am inclined to think she's more center-positioned on the sliding scale from RINO to Trumpian Populist and is consistently more in conflict with her Uncle than Trump.

I agree. I have always notice that McDaniel has been more supportive of Trump than her uncle has. I never understood why people here compare her to her uncle alot?

You're certainly optimistic.

Ronna's spearheading some idpol lgbt voter outreach working with the lincoln logs. that's always as slippery slope that always ends up drifting towards chaos. i've never seen an organization play lgbt games and come out unscathed, there's always a compromise and concession. just playing the idpol game is worrisome.

Both part of the Romney dynasty, both Mormons, and McDaniels has never repudiated her uncle and remains close to him.

You are aware that Trump himself is courting said voters? Right?

Now, important question, do you know how she courted them? Do you know in what way and what she promised? or are you simply saying that any courting of that vote is tainted no matter how it is done?

she announced the creation of a pride coalition. one of the articles i read had a gay republican kvetching about pat buchanon because "gay people want small government too" aka rino shit. the log cabin republicans want america to be the world's lgbt police and over throw anti gay dictators.

im a populist, trump is courting these people. what percent of the electorate are they? sub 1%?

trumo starts 2024 on his backfoot like 2016

e: its a rehashed meme but whats the point of conservatism if youre not conserving anything?

That make since because she never called her uncel out on his rinoness. People thinks she's one even through she always been supportive of Trump. She just ignores her uncel there

I have seen numbers like 5-7% of voters being LGBT. According to this article, Trump's support doubled in his reelection bid to 28% of that. Another article said that something like 45% of "queer men" voted for Trump.

I doubt these are the most accurate figures. I'd want to find another source besides this article.

The core thing the Republican party has had to do for a while but just wasn't under defacto Democrat rule was to sit down and determine -what- they would be conserving. If you attempt to conserve everything, you stagnate and are unable to push forward your own ideals.

To fill in some gaps in your knowledge. The promise both Trump and McDaniel have provided is not some sort of wholehearted push to make Gays be everywhere. Rather, its an affirmation of a stance that was asked for by most of the LGBT community and which has been utterly forgotten by the Democrats.

"We will leave you alone."

That's it, that's the thrust of the outreach. Oh yes, dressed up in fancy words about support and LGBT rights, etc. But when it comes time to propose policy to them, that is the policy proposed. That we acknowledge them, not persecute them, not seek to ostracise them... so long as they do the same and don't push their shit onto others. A mutual agreement to look past the issues and work together on anything else more important.

Excluding the T, the LGB part takes up as much as 6% of the country. Not a completely ignorable amount, especially given how little is required to secure a portion of it as noted above.

5-7 % of the total electorate, maybe 28% are conservative. thats almost 2% at the highest, 1.4 at the lowest.

e:

you can read what they want out of the gop. they firmly back gender identity, and free prep. sounds a lot like what dems want with 2a flourish.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you must be young or not following media 20 years ago. Trump was outspokenly for gay marriage since the early 2000's. Trump is literally a 90's Democrat in attitude, actions and personality. Trump has always been incredibly Laissez Faire on social issues. Let it sit in that almost all of his policies would of been common Democratic values in the 90's: Tough on crime, Strict on the border and even donated a decent chunk to the DNC during those years.

https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2016/03/05/donald-trump-celebrated-elton-johns-marriage-in-2005/ (You don't have click the link to see that Donald Trump supported gay marriage since 2005. )

Trump even donated to Black causes and hung around Black celebrities since the 80's, when even "liberal" Hollywood left them alone. The only reason that Trump even took 2016 seriously was because he hated Obama's policies, hated that the DNC started to take for granted his donations and getting made fun of by Obama on stage helped his drive and he REALLY didn't want Hillary Clinton to be president.

their outreach involves a specific political group with an ideology that is antithetical to mine. we already had the side a, side b debate in the christian sphere and this outreach seems to be a rehash of it at the political party level.

it wouldnt be a stretch to say 2024 will be another democrat vs democrat-lite as opposed to 2016's globalist vs populist.
