Anyone who's ever cleaned a public bathroom (or has used a unisex bathroom) knows that the women's bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, and a whole lot worse than the men's. The "men are more messy than women!" thing comes from sitcoms on TV (the same ones that paint men as stupid and lazy and women as infallible).

Also, anyone who thinks that shit surrounding the toilet is a good idea has never once cleaned a bathroom in their life.

Diverse characters certainly can entertaining, but not when they're preachy and one-dimensional.

And for the record, no one is stopping women and minorities from making their own characters and stories.

Romance novels would cease to exist if we followed this advice. For those who don't know romance is one of, if not the largest and most profitable fiction genre. It's primarily stories for women, written by women. There are a ton of subgenres that fall under romance, one that is very popular among all other subgenres (fantasy, historical, paranormal, etc) is enemies to lovers.

That subgenre would be decimated if when the heroine and hero meet and it's loathing at first sight the two characters part ways and never end up falling in love as they bicker and fight their way through the story. There's a reason it's a favorite!

The entire point of a romance novel or a romcom movie is the happily-ever-after. A story has to has conflict in order to not be boring. It's not supposed to be realistic or even necessarily a healthy relationship. Just interesting.
