Girlguides launch probe into commissioner, 58, who identifies as trans after campaigners uncovered 'disturbing' social media messages and pictures including her dressed as a dominatrix and wielding an assault rifle

Girlguiding bosses have launched an investigation into one of their Commissioners who is a
trans woman after she allegedly posed for a saucy picture in a dominatrix-style outfit.
Bus driver Monica Sulley, 58, reportedly became a guiding Commissioner in July this year, overseeing Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers in Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
Her appointment has upset some feminist campaigners who argue that biological males identifying as women should not be given leadership roles in the movement.
Campaigners delved into her background and unearthed a picture on her Instagram page showing her in a black bondage-style short dress with high heels and wielding a whip.
The picture of her posing in a corridor was captioned: 'Now behave yourselves or Mistress will have to punish you #mistress'.
Another snap showed Ms Sulley dressed in a tight fitting black top and taking aim with what appears to be a fake assault rifle with a holstered handgun hanging from her waist.
She was also seen in a third picture posing with a sword and in a Twitter picture showing off her ample cleavage with the caption: 'Boobs, or did you want to see more?'
Girlguiding which is Britain's leading charity for girls and young women launched its investigation after the pictures of Ms Sulley were revealed by the feminist website 4W.
Angela Salt, the CEO of Girlguiding, said in a statement tonight: 'The safety and wellbeing of our members is our absolute priority.
'We follow rigorous recruitment and vetting procedures, have clear policies, and a volunteer code of conduct which volunteers are expected to follow to keep our members safe.
'Girlguiding is aware of concerns raised. We are looking into this as a matter of urgency and will provide the necessary support and action in line with our compliance procedures.'
A spokeswoman for the organisation said she would not be issuing a statement on behalf of Ms Sulley who is also known on social media as Monica Tetley.
Ms Sulley who describes herself on social media as 'a trans woman married to a wonderful man' declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
Her Instagram account has now been deleted and her Twitter account set to private settings.
Girlguiding has described itself in recent years as being a 'girl-only organisation with a trans-inclusive Equality and diversity policy'.
A statement on its website says: 'We treat trans girls and women according to the gender they have transitioned, or are proposing to transition, to. Meaning trans girls and trans women are welcome to be a part of our great charity.
'The benefits to Girlguiding of being fully-inclusive are significant. We recognise the huge impact Girlguiding can have on each young member and volunteer.
'And it's vital that trans girls and women – like all other girls and women – can contribute their experiences, time, commitment and skills to our charity.'
But feminist writer Anna Slatz described Ms Sulley's social media posts as 'disturbing' in her article on the 4W website.
She wrote: 'While Girlguiding framed their policies as being directed towards including and supporting children, they tip-toed around the fact they were also allowing adult males who identified as women to take leadership positions within the organization (sic) in proximity to and control over the youth.'
Ms Slatz added that Ms Sulley's appointment had been 'met with backlash from women's rights activists and netizens concerned over his (sic) inappropriate online behavior (sic).'
She quoted one social media user as questioning Ms Sulley's involvement in Girlguiding, saying: 'Why would you be so insensitive towards women and girls that you would do this? I've managed my whole life without being involved with guiding and I'm a woman, it's hardly traumatic to not be involved.'
Another user said Ms Sulley's appointment was sending a 'possibly harmful' message to girls and young women, as 'it simply demonstrated males would be readily able to gain leadership over females in exclusive spaces simply by identifying as women'.
The article on 4W also revealed that Ms Sulley was one of 2,000 signatories on a letter to Pride in London organisers in 2018 which protested about how radical lesbians had been allowed to stage an anti-trans demonstration during the Pride march.
The lesbians pushed their way to the front of the Pride march behind a giant Rainbow flag to protest that the trans movement was attacking lesbian rights.
The letter which Ms Sulley signed was written by transgender woman and activist Aimee Challenor, a former contender for the deputy leadership of the Green party.
Ms Challenor was suspended by the Green party a month later, over revelations that she allowed her father David to be her election agent for 18 months after he was charged with raping and torturing a ten-year-old.
He was jailed for 22 years after being found guilty at Warwick Crown Court of 'depraved' crimes, including dressing as a baby and tying the girl to a beam, before whipping her and giving her electric shocks.
Ms Challenor later resigned after accusing the Green party of transphobia.
Girlguiding was forced to defend its trans-inclusive policy in September 2018 after it expelled two volunteers who objected to it.
The movement insisted at the time that allowing people who identify as women to join or lead groups did not put girls at risk.
Helen Watts, from Ealing in west London and another volunteer, were expelled after 'a number of complaints' were made about them, the organisation said.
Ms Watts, who has a 15-year history with Girlguiding, told the BBC's World At One programme on Monday that she felt 'a real loss' about being was banned from events and from contacting her group.
She insisted that girls have a right to 'female-only' spaces, particularly when guides and leaders shared lavatories, showers and sleeping accommodation in camps.
Ms Watts added that adolescents coping with changes in their bodies, victims of bullying or harassment by men, as well as girls from some cultural or religious backgrounds might feel shut out by Girlguiding becoming 'effectively a mixed-sex space'.
