"Current year" terms that piss you off

"*insert subject* are not a monolith", no particular reason it's just one of those terms people read and thought saying it makes them sound smarter so they parrot it at every opportunity. It's like that episode of Family Guy where peter hears a critic say "shallow and pedantic" and repeats it constantly. It also happened in the anime fandom when a review called Magica Madoka a "deconstruction of the magical girl genre" and literally everything was a "deconstruction" after that because nobody understood what that actually meant.

Can someone just turn the OP into a glossary, similarly to the troonspeak thread?

  • sexworker (aka hooker, aka prostitute, aka whore)
  • partner (aka poly participant, aka noncommittal fuckboi you're embarassed to admit won't get a you ring, aka faggot)
  • valid (aka omg best hugbox buddies)
  • educate yourself (aka get brainwashed until you think the way I want you to)
  • lit (aka tardspeak for anything good)
  • finna (aka tardspeak mushmouth for "am going to")
  • boo (aka future deadbeat father)
  • bae (aka future deadbeat father or single mother)
  • representation (aka overrepresenation of shitty people)
  • diverse (aka only darkies; aka only SJW cult approved thoughts)
  • reparations (aka whities owe everyone else for atrocities committed by jews or not committed at all)

I know I'm missing at least a few hundred entries, but I've got shit to do today.

I am sick to death of the overuse of the word "deeply". It's one of those words that isn't even political, and yet it seems to be used exclusively by leftists and corporate journalists.

We (Southerners) know it's stupid, we know it makes no sense, "you all" is just retarded. We don't care, it's how we was growed up and if you don't like it, or think were stupid for using it? Ok that's fine too.

All that said, if you use "yall" in a professional or academic setting even we think you're fucking stupid. Oh and yankees saying it is weird too.
No, stupid was saying "you" when one meant "thou," but here we are. People wore powdered wigs and avoided bathing in the Eighteenth Century, too. Mistakes were made. "Y'all" is better than having no second person plural pronoun.

English could also benefit from distinguishing inclusive first person plural ("we" meaning you, me, and us) and exclusive (me and my friends but not you.)

In the foreign language classes I've taken, they actually teach the concept of plural second person pronouns using "y'all." English has all kinds of moronic idiosyncrasies.
