Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

When "That was not real communism even if they self describe themselves as such" becomes an argument to try and disorganize history.
>Uhhh just because they call themselves that doesn't mean they are that sweaty, Democratic People's Republic of Korea much?
>also the only reason you're against anti-fascists and Black Lives Matter is because you're a fascist and you don't think they matter, it's in the name!

That moment when you realize that the Ministry of Truth is not only real, but everyone there does it for free.

The one area in this otherwise good report where they show ignorance or a lack of understanding is the economy question. First off, an obligatory "it's the economy, stupid". Secondly:

These pollsters, at least, don't understand why Dems are losing on this topic. Suburban voters don't care about your fucking "X amount of jobs created this month" statistics or your "the unemployment rate is Y" figures, national level statistics are meaningless to them. It's aboout their pocketbooks, it's about how much gas costs or groceries cost, it's about how their town or their county is doing economically. Blasting statistics in their face won't convince them the economy's actually fine, they'll just roll their eyes.

It's about jobs too. Even on a local level.

Because these shitbags have a long, storied history of bringing call center, fass fud, and Walmart jobs while being as hostile as they can towards manufacturers, logistics, and many professional tier jobs that pay a living wage with GOOD benefits and saying they brought allllll these jobs!

While patting themselves on the back and smirking.

So... lemme get this straight: "We're gonna do something we criticized Trump for, while using the fact that he did it as justification for us doing it."

The multilevel hypocrisy is even more impressive because I'm not sure they're aware they're doing it.

Oh, I do love it when I have to remind socialists of one of their own anthems. If you please, Mack the Knife....

Even if every one of the numbers is overwhelmingly positive (and they only are among the "inflation is good" set), you can't eat a positive macroeconomic outlook. The boots-on-the-ground reality IS the reality, not some tally sheets that can be tweaked if needed.

Can the ones left mostly intact be made into decorative planters? The blue would go so well with some of my perennials.
Trump condemned white supremacy like 800 times. There's entire montages of it on YouTube.

These people can't be real

Oh, make no mistake, they're very real, and they're living among us.

I'm only half joking here.

And if blue helmets are called, treat them with the respect and dignity a third world shithole would do them.
Those bright blue helmets will double as fantastic targets for the civilians that are armed, should they set foot on US soil.
If one of those rapist Blue Helmets dares to come near my local community....

Didn't stop the media complex from running with it and it actually stuck compared to the mountains of shit they threw at him to the point where Biden was able to use it as the official reason he was even running. I fully understand why Dilbertman autistically focused on that so hard since it was what fully peak Blue Checkmarked me.

I'm assuming the ability to transfer money to him and other Deplorables without going through regular (i.e. their) channels is why TPTB want to shut down crypto so badly?

You guys are so pre-occupied with whether or not he could sue journo-scum and all of the other big guys who dragged his name through the mud, but you never stop to think about whether or not he should. Or, more accurately, whether or not he actually wants to. Y'all saw him collapse when they read the not-guilty verdict. Poor dude's been through the wringer. At least let him take a breather before he does anything else. Don't get me wrong, I wanna see journo-scum and woke corporate America bleed as much as the next guy, but it's gotta be on his time, not ours.
He does want to and has a team of lawyers working on it. I would respect his choice if he didn't want to, but it's already in motion. He doesn't have to be as directly involved on the day-to-day stuff like he does for a criminal trial. He seems like he still has a sense that it is wrong to make up lies about people and will do his part to make it harder for them to do it in the future to others. He can do that while still taking care of himself and his family.

From the wording I assumed they were referring to national borders.

There is one state with manned checkpoints already. Almost all roads to California already have Argricultural Checkpoints. They stop everyone, usually passenger cars are just asked if they have any fruits or vegetables, trucks paperwork is checked, RVs may get a more thorough screening. Agricultural pests and diseases are a huge risk to the multi-billion dollar industry in California.

It would seem to be serious overreach to extend that to vaccinations. I don't live in California to know if their exceptional governor has suggested that idea or not.
It is national borders, but so many truck drivers have to cross into Canada that it will really crunch the supply chain worse.

Like, I don't get it. Is the black vote really worth that much? I'm pretty sure Biden could blast "I HATE NIGGERS" over and over and still 90% of black people would vote democract. Seems like this is seppku in action for next term, lol.

"Justice isn't enough." Adding to justice invalidates the concept. If equal justice under the law isn't enough, then you're advocating for inequality, which is all equity is.

The Dem think tank Third Way and ALG Research released a very interesting report explaining the reasons why the Democrats lost the Virginia elections so badly. I do take issue with the sample size of voters they used (18 people from NoVA and the Richmond metro area) but the conclusions largely match up with public perceptions.
I think they underestimate the reluctance of people to openly say that they are against CRT. I really do. I think privately a lot of people say that, but they sincerely don't want to be seen as racists (because they really aren't -- they've just been raised with the idea that being color blind is the ideal and the new "you're racist if you don't see race" is confusing to them). I think even if they are okay with having to endure "white privilege" lectures at work, they aren't that keen on their kids getting the message that there is something wrong with having white skin. And if you can't trust that the teachers won't let your child secretly switch genders at school and refuse to disclose that information to you -- how can you trust that they are teaching about race in an up and up manner? You can't.

Also, I find it interesting that they take pains to state that nobody said Biden was unfit to lead. Again, I think they underestimate the reluctance of people to admit they think Biden is too mentally gone to be President. Whether that is because admitting that means that they screwed up and voted for a guy who was too old to do the job or that something should be done about it or because they fear that the very unlikeable VP will assume the presidency, I don't know. But surely it has to cross the mind of even the most fervent Biden supporter that he is not performing as well as he did even a few months ago. While campaigning, it was obvious he was old, but he could still speak coherently even if he had a few gaffes. He can barely string together an entire sentence now. I can't believe people don't know that. I can believe that they would be reluctant to say it, but they know. Everybody knows.

Baris's poll came out.
Sample was D+6.

2022 Congressional Ballot: R+8

Trump v Biden 2024: Trump+8
Trump v Harris 2024: Trump +10

He was so unsure with the leans being so slanted towards Republicans he delayed the poll days to recheck. He found 5 black women from cities lie about being Republicans.

Trump leads men by 13% while women are tied amongst Biden and Trump.

"It's like Virginia but nationwide."
"Rasmussen came up as a Trump +13 for 2024. I can believe it."

At this point, they need to fraud 5-10+% of the total vote in multiple states to salvage Biden's fall.
Jesus. This looks positively catastrophic. Truly, the epitome of "I won, but at what cost?"

It's curious that this Secretary of Energy doesn't know how much oil Americans consume, or how much prices would drop if you release X amount of oil into the market. What's even more curious though, this lady was also Governor of Michigan from 2003-2010. Seven years in a leadership role didn't give her any experience I guess.

e: Also, she's legitimately just a bad liar. She can't even come up with the empty meaningless platitude sort of statements Psaki makes when reporters question her. Psaki should send her PR coach over to Granholm.

If something like 10% of the black vote goes full Republican or 25% just quits voting reliably, the Dems are finished. Yeah, it really is worth that much.

And Gehenna ninja'd me. Dammit.

The Admin probably thought "Michigan = Cars = Gas = Oil = Energy + Diversity Hire + Nearly a Decade of Government" = Solid Energy Secretary Pick.

Honestly, could've gotten rid of Manchin by shoving him into that role with the same mindset. "West Virginia = Coal = Energy" = Profit.

They are right that CRT is part of a larger issue of the entire school administration not listening to parents and actively hiding things from them. There was an interview with Youngkin's campaign manager that said Terry McAuliffe's gaffe -- "I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach" - gave them a way to grow their parent constituency like nothing else they could have come up with. That sentence got people who were concerned about a million different school topics to stand together.

So we were having a hard time; those people don't fit in the same rooms together. You know, having school-choice people in the same room with a CRT person with an advanced math [person] along with people who want school resource officers in every school — that's a pretty eclectic group of people.

Terry McAuliffe said it better than we ever could have: He wanted to restrict the parents' involvement in their children's education. When he said that, then we could say, "Parents matter. Terry wants the government in between you and your child's life." And then it spoke to everybody. We didn't have to explain it to anyone, because they heard what they wanted to hear in that message.

He said what he believes — and by the way, it's not just what he believes on education; it's what he believes on everything: big government. He wants to, like, force you to join a union; he wants to force you to get a shot in your arm or you get laid off; if you get laid off, he doesn't want you to get unemployment. It's like this entire crust of the modern Democrat[ic] Party, which he's the godfather of, is about government involvement and growing big government.

fucking why do dems get so butthurt over "democrat party."
