Shit that you overheard during Thanksgiving (2021)

ok, was waiting to catch up on a bunch of other threads, but one of my nephews spent a month in the hospital after getting the vaxx, he got leg clots (he's fat) and essentially is suffering the worst year any elementary school kid could have, even worse is how traumatic if is for literally all of his friends and family around that age, i only really had to face the death of loved ones in high school and i didn't really get over it, but like i was old enough that men my age were dying in fucking war ages ago so my brain was still a lot more ready for it than i would have been if i was a literal child. do you know how sad it is to see a kid barely able to walk? no one really made the connection that it was the vax that triggered it, but there is no other explanation besides that or "sudden accident"

I think its also worse for the kid because its not like they had any choice in the matter, i know when i had to stay in the hospital and was suffering it was because i was an addict that did addict shit, did it suck being in bed while my family yelled at me for being an addict? yes; but its not like i was going to die, and even then it was for way fewer days than him. hell just christmas vacation felt like a year when you were a kid, i can't imagine what being in the hospital that long would have felt like. plus now his parents are going to be watching him like a hawk, you can't be a fat fuck anymore because you also died little dude, also you can't hang out with your cousins and make memories because everyone is faster and stronger than you, imagine being a kid and having portion control on thanksgiving of all days.

My vegan sister always gets choked up about the poor turkey and the hard life it had at a factory farm. My dad will turn on Fox News at full volume in response. Great times.

Edit: Actually went well this year, not too much politics and only minimal vegan propaganda.

My mom refuses to go to Thanksgiving this year because her aunt yelled at her one time 3 years ago. My mom is also extremely self righteous and said she's not grudge holding but "avoiding a situation" even though her aunt tried making amends.

She also hates the family because most of them are well off nurses, engineers and my mom(despite being white) will start talking ghetto and say shit like "DEY THINK DEY BETTER CUZ DEY GOT MONEY. OH YEAH I KNOW I'M THA POOREST ONE IN DA FAMBLY"!

she also spends $300 a month on cigarettes. One time she was clutching $40 worth of cigarettes in her hand while saying dramatically "I'm sooooo poor I literally have to wear rags" with the smuggest most satisfied look on her face.

I told her to have a nice Thanksgiving with her homies in da projects

Having Thanksgiving at my house this year, with a small crowd.

I have to pick up my elderly mother from her care home, and while it will be nice to see her, she will be asking everyone what their name is and where they work six or seven times an hour.
Old age sucks.
And since I'm doing all the cooking, I'm a little stressed. Naturally my insomnia kicks in. Hope I don't burn the turkey.
