Also, the real Georg von Trapp fled Austria by traveling to Italy (where he had citizenship due to his birthplace of Dalmatia being Italian territory at the time) and then making his way to London. The real example definitely wasn’t an illegal migrant, and being a prominent individual fleeing during the Anschluss would’ve given both stronger claims for refugee status than most of the supposed “asylum seekers” at the border.
