Rethink needed on anti-viral pills - Whitty​

At the Downing Street press conference this afternoon, the UK's chief medical officer Prof Chris Whitty also said anti-viral pills for Covid-19, which were approved by the UK earlier this month, needed a "rethink" because of the new variant.
The first pill designed to treat symptomatic Covid was approved by the UK medicines regulator earlier this month.
"On the anti-virals, we are going to have to do a bit of a rethink on the basis of this new variant just to be confident we've got the right indications from it," Whitty said.
He said that it was vital to make sure the drugs were used in the "most effective way and for the right people".

Updated versions of vaccines against Covid variants are already being designed and tested, in case they are needed at some point.

Ah, yes, we need to rethink antiviral pills that have a generalized mechanism for preventing viral replication, but we most certainly should continue administering "jabs" that very narrowly target a spike protein that has dramatically mutated in shape and may no longer even be relevant!

That was why governments worked so hard on the "conspiracy theory" propaganda. Any time somebody proposes that there might be some sort of conspiracy they get dismissed as a loon.

My hope for Omicron is that it is so dangerous to the vaccinated that they are forced to live in clean bubble cities... abandoning the world at large for hyper-filtered spaces. The purebloods will be left to run important go-between tasks for the covidians pod-cities, while never being able to live within one. We can have our own way point towns. At least we are too important to kill off.

Probably the most pleasing of our dystopian futures.

This will also work towards their environmental goals since most people won't be able to travel. I'm not sure about how the elite would get by. Maybe they will build themselves a floating city, so they are able to travel and be "home" at all times.

-New variant is so radically mutated from original Wuhan Covid that it should be classed as a separate strain, SARS-Cov3.
-Possibility that it doesn't need to out compete Delta Covid, that both can co-exist simultaneously as 2 separate viruses. Yes possible to catch Covid twice at the same time
-Monoclonal antibody treatment definitely rendered useless against Omicron. Very likely that any protective effects from current mRNA vaccines also gone.
-Seems to be wildly infectious and spreading rapidly
-Heavy censorship of scientific debate by governments. Outright panic going on behind the scenes.

We'll see I guess. Whether this is scare mongering propaganda or the emergence of Covid-21 nothing has changed. The only immunity worth a damn is the one you get from recovery. Those who have recovered from Covid in the past 2 years and avoided vaccination will be fine. Remaining purebloods will catch Covid over time and 99.6% - 99..9% of us will get on with our lives, a few will die, such is the way of things.

The vaccinated will have to cross their fingers and hope. At the very best they're now in the same boat as the non jabbed. At worst the vaccines have screwed their chances of responding effectively to infection and they'll suffer serious disease at a wildly disproportionate rate. I have no sympathy (except for kids). All of them were warned, repeatedly. I don't want to hear a single fucking word from anyone with buyers regret.
