Seems like a new thing and a great way to establish the whole family/gen feel. Gen 5 did some collabs early on but they didn't feel as cohesive as this. They are trying to sell the brand and the lore (probably what EN2 also did but i feel like it might resonate more with japanese viewers).

I'm catching up on the debuts and Lui specifically mentions having lunch with Chloe and giving her some handcream and how Laplus lives close by and she goes over there a lot.

It would be nice if actually true. All the EN girls are so spread out and almost never see each other. If Holox is really mostly together and in touch, that would mean some real meaningful chemistry can form. Looking forward to that.

Niji EN3 has that going for them and I really do enjoy it. Nina the single alcoholic mother. Reimu the calm older sister who gets toxic when pissed off. Enna an Millie the shitty twins who are toxic by nature and love to troll the others for their enjoyment.


Luna might be screwed if she ever has to change her voice.


I feel like Marine and Suisei barely changed their voice though. Snuffy changed her original voice drastically and it was for the better. Someone like Luna though, I feel like a large part of her appeal is her voice and if she suddenly had to switch it might kill a good % of the viewers.




Confirmed for shit taste. Mask is unique the red eyes are generic as fuck. Would be nice if she would use the mask to stay in character and change her voice whenever she's using it but that may be too much to ask.


If lore-wise you told me she was Noel's little sister I would believe it. Even sounds similar (except when singing). I can believe youtube trimming off dead accounts and maybe tagging them as bots. Maybe its not set to a year (if not we would probably see a huge dip in dubs at the 1 year mark) but maybe its done periodically out of a sample and not the entirety of the subs.


It's really good. Custom BGMs are the way to go for Hololive. They have the biggest talents and they should avoid using BGMs that are available to everyone else.

It's not really surprising, but still just a bit, seeing how well she gets along with the people she collabs with.

This is surprising considering, aside from that one instance of prodding Pomu about surgery (I think that was her) I've never seen any actual drama from her.

I swear I've watched some older streams of Haachama's (actually pre-Chama when she was still just Akai Haato) where she spoke nearly perfect english. Either she's hiding it, playing dumb to be silly with her character/lore, or stopped using it from moving back to JP and has fallen hard.

I have a question for people who aren't fond of Kiara:

Why do you dislike her, and how could she redeem herself in your opinion?

This has already been gone over mostly, but just to add my opinion... When I first started watching vtubers, mostly HL Myth, I didn't know any roommate info. Even so, Kiara's sometimes shrill voice, over energetic delivery (in a manic way more than just talking fast), constant swearing, TakaMori bit, general lewdness (she didn't get known for bottom left for nothing), and constant need to be the center of attention is what I didn't like. Also the self pity and numberfagging of her own channel and genmates didn't help either, especially when she rakes in more in SC than almost all of them including the most-subscribed Gura.

Then as I started looking into the roommate info more, I found all the Keeki drama and agreed with a lot of it and it validated what I thought of her as Kiara, so I'm sure that multiplied it in my own mind. But as I dug more and found out more, here and elsewhere, about her past, I kind of grew sympathetic. She was a weeb like most of us and tried to live her dream of being an idol in JP and actually got off her ass and did it. But then she got screwed over, chewed up, and eventually spit out. Not surprising given that industry, but still sucks for her. But she was able to leverage those skills along with the streaming she did to get into HL, so good on her I guess.

So now I try not to go out of my way to hate on her. There's not enough hours in the day and too many others I enjoy to sit and hate-watch her. She annoys me in collabs, but otherwise I do well enough just not to watch her and then she doesn't bother me.

Anything she could do to "redeem" herself in my opinion would be unauthentic, which is worse. She is who she is.

Eh... It's fine I guess, but since this latest fiasco, I kinda don't want my oshi to associate with them. Even Ironmouse who's widely considered less retard have proved herself not above tribalism and sensationalize drama.

I was watching some clip of Kson playing block game (or a mod anyway, didn't seem vanilla) with cannur, mouse, and mel I think and when I was looking at the comments someone was gushing about how it was so great to see Kson collabing with them and she is much better there and fits right in with the VS girls. That's when it hit me that they were right and probably why I don't like Kson/Coco much. She really does seem more like a VS member and most of them are annoying to me.

I've come to accept that this really is the gossip site for neckbeards so there will inevitably be some catty mean-girl nonsense. It's better than vt but sometimes I question the t-levels.

That pretty much the point of this thread isn't it? If I wanted to just talk all positive about my oshi/waifu in a hugbox, I'd just go to reddit. And if I wanted to go full autistic crazy rrat I'd got to vt. This thread mostly rides the fine line between those two where you can enjoy and talk about them but also get info on stuff going on behind the scenes. Sometimes it gets a bit gossipy/dramatic, but that's just the nature of the beast.


Anyway, time to continue trying to catch up with the rest of the debuts and 10+ more pages here. If anything interesting comes up to reply to, I'll make another post later tonight. I'm sure by then there will be 2-3 more pages, so it won't be double-posting at that point!

Thats how Gen 5 was handled so the family dynamic felt natural. Sadly it kinda broke when Aloe graduated and hasn't really been the same

It was ok, even with the terrible name pronunciation (I know googleTL fucks up pronunciation sometimes, but the KizunaAI literally said her name in the clip he showed and he still read it as Kizuni, as in Yuni).

He spent 40 minutes and didn't even talk about what made Vtubers popular in the west, aside from HoloEN (who came relatively late to the party last year) and clippers in general and didn't give any examples. Most of the time he dedicated to KizunaAi and Gura, with passing remarks to Vshojo and other Holo and Niji talents.

Also, he clearly had a thing for a bigtitty oneesan (Lucahjins) from twitch, because the mfer put too many clips from her on the same video. @0:29 @32:28 @36:04
