once i made a burner account and they immediately blocked it asking for the verification via cellphone. i emailed them that i didn't have a phone and used a common computer to access their site. lol it worked 🤭
(that account was eventually banned because i wished death upon soneone who was posting some genocidal bs)

Awhile ago they (Twitter) provided an onion address(Tor) as per request by Tor developers, whistleblowers and dissents from nations that would jail you for speech. Twitter made the link but required a phone number to sign up.

Other sites who create a Tor address to be hip and claim they are pro privacy require only certain email providers that need a PHONE NUMBER for verification to use their service.

Twitter was absolute garbage that ran like shit despite just doing the simplest shit in the world because it was programmed so poorly using baby's first web framework. People made clones that ran better just as some weekend project.
And it took a over a decade for Twitter to finally make any profit.
