Makes me wonder why I even went to college and got an engineering degree. Clearly if you want to make a lot of money, there are plenty of low-effort methods to "game" the system if you know what you're doing. I imagine the amount Phil 'earns' while sitting on his fat ass makes a lot of us feel cheated.

I mean you can make much more, and you can actually retire one day. As an engineer your income can only go up with experience. You are in a position to live a far better, and much more stable life. I doubt you will ever be in a position with your degree where you will have to beg children for money on camera.
Phil on the other hand has achieved as much as he could, given his career path. It's only downhill from here. If he gets banned or in any public mess he is done. A single health issue can mess up his entire life at the moment. Mate a single person from the few exceptional individuals that support him leaves, and that's a huge chunk of his income gone.
So absolutely nothing to feel cheated about.

He's banking on his parents kicking the bucket and leaving him with either insurance money or legal permission to sell their house (assuming it's paid off) and take what's left over after sales commission. I can't think of anyone that even comes close. It's like an art form. Wings begs every now and then, but not so often in one stream like Phil does.

I know we say this every 10 minutes, but he has objectively gotten worse recently.

- He has begun The Daily Wrap which is just a financial report on how the day went (downplaying successes), and a targeted beg for whatever is going on the next day. Nobody asked for this, and it started as a explicit begging video to cover the 'lost revenue' from the music playthroughs.
- He is openly discussing metrics on stream - views in general, views in relation to memberships (ie. saying there are more viewers than members, so join), and channel engagement, all of which he insisted in the past he does not and would not look at, let alone focus on.
- He has started announcing the time since the last tip as a means to beg, as if that means something (personally I find this to be one of the most entitled things he has ever openly done to his audience)
- He has also regularly been looking to use un-hit tip goals to beg - he will say how many days it has been since they have hit ____ goal, and if he exceeded it that morning, he will instead count how long it has been since that particular game met the tips goal. These are not vague statements, he is providing specific numbers and has demonstrated he is willing to also lie about them.
- He is holding every single playthrough hostage now - one 'slow' stream and there is a gun to the head of any game, and sometimes entire genres. But he also now warns people ahead of every stream, even if the previous one was successful.
- He is now subtly refusing to count streams as a 'success' if one person tipped to hit the goals - if one person tipped $50, and there were $8 in other tips, Phil will speak as though the stream made $8 and shame his audience for allowing a whale to do the heavy lifting.
- Begging tweets have become a staple and are an expectation on every single slow night stream. Phil himself previously said that tweeting during the night streams was excessive and pointless, as everyone knew he needed tips. For some reason, he has decided that they're now perfectly fine, announces that he is doing them, and sometimes recites them on stream as he writes them. Several times, this has resulted in a whale tip less than a minute after the tweet goes up, strongly suggesting that he has paypigs that are specifically waiting for the tweet.

I don't know what triggered this, but I think he wants to move away from outside emergencies (ie. the lawyer, the shower) to drive money because he no longer likes having to deal with questions or follow-ups, considering it too much work or too much risk. Instead, he's opting to lean into developing a stream culture where aggressive daily begging for daily operations is normal. He recently told people to stop acting like 'the sky is falling' when there's an issue; that rant seems to have inspired him to just make every day a perpetual state of skyfall instead.

you'd have to create something new, interesting and get enough people to pay you to do it
i think alt streaming platforms that aren't as congested like odyssey and dlive might work to help you get your foot in the door.

He never did. He simply got his initial popularity from uploading footage of so many games at launch, before YouTubers could get early access. The moment people could offer the same as him, he started to lose people's attention.

I get what you are saying and I would normally agree, but Phil is VERY insecure about his sexuality (or lack thereof) and is living in 80's and 90's movies with his view on masculinity among other world views.

I would love a Phillip tranny arc but I really don't think there is any chance of that happening.

I agree that there's 0 chances but for 2 different reasosns
