Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

At least Doobie chased his dream and made things happen. Stupid things, yes, but Doobie was a stupid man. Goons just sit on their ass and bemoan all the ways capitalism has fucked them over, while they get older and fatter and troon out. This behavior is much dumber than anything Doobie actually did.

The Doobie saga was a classic. To break down some of your comments:

- The vent hood saga was him needing one to pass inspection. He bought a shack basically and naturally it did not have a vent hood. Doobie did not know he needed one and it was going to set him back $5k to buy and install it. Of course he begged online to get the cash.
There's more to it than that! Originally he bought a used hood and figured he could do the install himself. Him and his father in law did part of it, but the rooftop extraction fan has to sit level. On a flat roof building no biggie, but the hotdog bunker had a sloped roof. Doobie could not figure out how to make the angles work and had to find a guy a state over who would finish the half finished job as a real tradie wouldn't touch it.

He never got a soda fountain because the building didn't meet drain requirements so he had to sell bottled drinks.

He served beans with a slab of cold onion.

He tried to host a 4th of July event when Reform was literally giving away free hotdogs that day.

Initially the whole thing was supposed to just be a hotdog cart and he wanted to sell hotdogs at college football games. He got the idea from www.hotdogprofits.com
After the first fundraiser he learned that hotdog carts are illegal in Reform.

If Boagen never hooked up with Lowtax he would still be alive and probably getting at least 10K a month from Patreon. But he was trying to hook up with chix at the time so maybe he would have met someone else, brought her home, and slipped on her in the face, or just found some other even dumber way to set goons against him.
I'm all but certain there's an alternate timeline where some chick accused Lowtax of raping her, and the goons all bought every last thing she said without a single bit of questioning even though it's obvious she's just stirring up shit, and this also causes Lowtax to degrade faster than ever with him meeting the same demise as he did in this timeline

The funniest thing in the Doobie saga was that goon who donated his family's entire Christmas budget. Meaning no presents for his kids, in order to teach them a life lesson about the true spirit of generosity or some shit. Imagine being a child and your dad trying to explain that you won't be getting any gifts because of some Alabama hotdog vendor.

I'm pretty sure that once upon a time I accidentally performed an "Alabama Hotdog Vendor" on my girlfriend.

Yup, all of that guy's posts in the thread are here. As time went on, I love how he keeps trying to rationalize it, like it was some sort of "investment". First doubling down from $500 to $1000, then saying that the wife & kids are okay with all this, then backtracking to claim that he's loaded and they actually had xmas gifts after all. And then concocting some crazy fever-dream vision of future success for the hot dog shack, with it being a popular hang-out joint, employing a whole staff of teenagers, and totally turning around the little bumfuck town it was in. And finally the sunk-cost fallacy takes hold, as he defends the guy after they apparently found some "off-color" comments on Facebook.

The one line that I think sums up the entire misadventure is at the bottom of page 84.
> Wait, is that building he's renting actually, literally in a trailerpark. Like, is there not even a main street going by? :story:

Vinyl siding always looks like total shit.

Edit: groverhaus is nothing compare to the horror of BeatMasterJ's bathroom remodel.
For anyone that wants a reminder:

This picture is hilarious. The use of HDR gives it an otherworldly feel that really amps up the weird.

I'm going to out myself as a one time parks and rec watcher but it looks like a Tom Haverford dream bathroom, I call toilets log-drops, showers are rain-sheds, soap is cleaning-lube.

(Also what's with the bench in the shower with sharp corners? we have some exactly like that in the showers at work and it's always bugged me)

@Sabrina any confirmed Carol meltdowns?

This is the only one I've seen passed around. I think the guy donated to the gfm and wrote a eulogy on fb that tagged Lowtax so the post showed up on his page. After this the family just went through Facebook to deactivate Rich's profile instead.

I still wouldn't be surprised if she tried to pull some shit through the courts, but if she does we'll ultimately find it.
