If you're learning to draw/play guitar/anything, how do you improve if all you're doing is going "Yeah, I suck, but at least I'm not at the level of literal babies". No you don't, because that means you're complacent and no longer interested in improving. You should always find ways to improve, and ask yourself what you you could do better to be at the same level as others.

Pippa/Yuni knows she already "made it" as a Vtuber, but she also knows she's clearly lacking in something because her peers have already beat her despite her early lead.

Being disappointed in oneself is the crossroads Pippa/Yuni needs to overcome if she really does want to be bigger as a Vtuber/content creator. The first step in improving yourself is identifying what it is to improve on.

I just hope this doesn't discourage her, rather I hope this inspires her to be better
I think it's good to be introspective and look for ways to improve yourself, but it's also important to treasure what you have. There will always be someone better off than you, and it's easy to lose sight of what you have when you're tunnel visioning on what you want.

Metrics like sub counts and view counts aren't quite like developing a skill like playing guitar, either, more akin to being the guitar player trying to get people to show up to listen to you play. However, the analogy is still good because that is where Pippa stumbles - marketability, networking, etc. Maybe she should ask Tenma for tips, as she's currently growing the fastest and is starting to creep up on Lia and Uruka.

Pippa should follow the advice of Kaichou: "Never stop trying new things." She should also change her profile picture back to something cute, seriously, which of these is the average VTuber fan least likely to click on?

I knew Ame was headed on a collision course with management over creative content. I still have Coco's first run-ins seared in my memory.

Let me enjoy funny horned hope clown while it lasts.

I hope Ame plays megaman knowing how fucking steep the learning curve is and how easily mad she gets.

there's plenty of people who put all their effort into an endeavor and failed, sometimes spectacularly. people start their own business, throw everything they have and then bankrupt out a year later.
Pippa got lucky. she joined a company that pays a stipend or salary with a retarded fanbase full of whales. Pippa's average viewcount is around the 2000's with her most popular stream at 71k. , yuni barely breaks 800 average views, her largest viewcount comes from her 12 hour stream last month sitting at 2,500. it doesn't look like there's any carry over from Pippa to yuni

no wonder she dooms. despite the "pippa is setting up yuni as a fallback" talk, it's not in the numbers, if pippa graduates that could be the end and she goes back to the indie vtuber mines. in another universe where pippa doesn't exist, yuni is streaming to the same 100-150 people. Maybe she's still managing six 1view channels and pulling her hair out.
VOD views on twitch give dogshit money according to Woolie from Two Best Friends (he even asked people who watched the stream to go and click on the VOD upload on youtube). What's more important is members/subs on both platforms and the majority of the people that chat in both her streams are subbed (who knows how much that reflects how many people are subbed overall). Yuni's not doing that poorly

It's a small loyal community and that can get you pretty far on twitch as long as you consistently stream and grow. Getting to this point is the biggest hurdle to get over as a content creator and if she grew up to an average of 600+ viewers she could make decent money almost entirely because of Twitch prime. She has 20 emote slots right now, meaning she had at least 300 subs at one point (~$750). I get the impression from some of the things she's said in the last few Pippa streams that she's still in flux about what she actually wants to do with the Pippa channel going forward. We'll see with whatever the Fedsmoker video/stream turns out being. idk what I'd do in her situation with two distinct channels. You're completely right about the Pippa carryover not doing much for her twitch viewership outside people that came to the marathon; maybe there'd be more if she used the Pippa twitch more than once now that she has affiliate. What she's doing now is working out decently well financially for le epic kiwifarms rabbit, but who knows if it's sustainable if she just keeps doing what she's doing. She already has her niche audience's attention and while Phase Connect grows and gets a new gen, who knows what kind of people will flood into the community.

Gura's rigger tweeting "it's beautiful" and that he'd like to take a long break from work shortly before that announcement has prompted rrats about the imminent return of the rhombus.

If that dude is back after his shoddy work the past few times..then the rrat becomes the truth. He's Yagoo's retarded brother or something.

There's no way in hell my wallet survives a Hololive gacha game
I'm pretty sure a Hololive Dating Gacha Sim would spell bankruptcy for a lot of people.

Maybe I misread something, but did Kizuna Ai says she was specifically leaving because she wanted to do NFTs. The quote I read made it sound more like “Between the Facebook name change and whatever NFTs are, I think I need to get more up to date with the current goings-on in technology”. It just seemed like an in-universe thing for an A.I. wanting to learn about humanity would want to take time away to “power up and evolve” or whatever.
I actually went back and re-watched that bit of her announcement and I agree that this is in all likelihood a misunderstanding. The gist is that she wants to be more on-pulse with the current trends and just cited metaverse and NFTs as buzzwords but didn't specifically say she was going on hiatus to hawk them. It's like a boomer grabbing whatever the most recent technobabble she saw online in her facebook group and cited it as an example without really understanding what the fuck they mean.

Five entire dollars? So she splurged this time?
Now, now. We all know the height of her alcoholic splurging was when she grabbed that Johnnie Walker Blue on sale at the airport Duty Free on her way home back from the US. And I know most single malt elitists will turn their nose at JWB but the bitch was chugging it right off the bottle like it was on off-shelf Honey Jack Daniels.

is that $750 per month, 6-8 hours a week, is $31.50/hr. but its still 750 a month. if she has whales like pippa then she'd make an additional $300-600 a week. could be nice.

as for what she should do with yuni/ pippa, im on team sell out. I don't know what looks like but im all for it. im not too focused on the lolcow stuff because i have MATI but anime girl yelling about indie game devs being shit is something i'd miss if she had to scrap it. but its not like holoEN is squeeky clean either, they toe the line with risque stuff.

if it means pippa asmr and gfe, i'll just skip em like i do karaoke and book club. i've bitched enough but its those small tangents i like the most it just takes a while to get there.

one question thag we'll never get an answer to is if the PC contract is year to year and if fishman takes out the stipend portion whenever they renew the gen 1 contracts. gen2 isnt getting a stipend but i dont see how PC would keep gen1 on the payroll as employees.

otoh, i can see fishman doing this because he geniuinely wants his own VT company and keeping gen1 on the dole because they helped PC get rolling.

is there any word if gen 2 will have jp members in it?

----

i realized i have an emotional attachment to PC now and i dont know how i should feel about it.

Kiara does the exact same thing as Pekora by sending her Roserade with a fairy attack out against Cynthia's Spiritomb only to watch as it gets one-shot by Psychokinesis. It's like poetry, it rhymes.
Same laugh, same mindset
Ah yes "Calli is pregant" is back, that one's pretty funny cause I'm pretty sure you need to have sex to be preganenant, I'm pretty sure Calli is on a short list of hololivers that aren't getting railed 24/7
She likes fucking twinks though, and a tall monkey isn't one of them

lmao Ame being got'em

I hope this isn't the start of creative differences between Ame and management.
Precisely, if they do that they are colossal fucking retards. Western audiences don't have a problem with Amelia's humor, she is actually tamer than Coco too and her shorts are honestly harmless. The audiences fucking loved her last wave of content and with reason as she did an amazing job. I have a bit of a hunch that the managers are just clamping down on her because she's pulling those by herself and she is making them look like a bunch of retards, they are fearing for their jobs because she clearly barely needs them!

Pippa/Yuni knows she already "made it" as a Vtuber, but she also knows she's clearly lacking in something because her peers have already beat her despite her early lead.

While I admit that I don't watch Pippa that much, she surely has an unique personality, and it might simply not be for everyone. Maybe being more flexible in that regard while not watering down her character too much would work out? I don't know lol!

Kizuna is also a brand like some people have been saying, in the event of her quitting they might not retire the character. What I know so far is that she is on a hiatus to work on a big project, and while there is a chance the talent might quit the character isn't going away!

Pippa should follow the advice of Kaichou: "Never stop trying new things." She should also change her profile picture back to something cute, seriously, which of these is the average VTuber fan least likely to click on?
Precisely, stagnation is fucking awful and boring. And yes lol! It looks like something from a random crappy meme channel, between futuristic girl, cute fox, cute girl and depressed alcoholic rabbit I'm not clicking on the fucking rabbit lol!

205 viewers and top 0.2%. There's something depressing about that statistic.

She was probably planning on returning to rootin' tootin' shootin' land for Christmas.

While getting there is simple and just requires a negative covid test. Coming back could be a massive issue with Japan restricting travel into the country pretty much to 0.

You have to "ask the government" to come back in at the moment I believe, which with Japanese paperwork is probably a nightmarish affair where it's faster to just wait for the borders to open.

Another Christmas alone in Japan is quite sad when she almost got home this year, if that is what she's talking about.
Hey I nailed it!

Sucks for Dad :(

I came to deliver the news for Callis sadness but i see people already know so heres a funny exchange to substitute

Calli: I can't get angry, because then I'll slip up and everyone will see my face and everyone dies!
That's what happens when you look straight into the grim reaper's face.

Chat: That's why Sensei wears shades?

Calli: Yes.
