Only with people like Labelle can GRS be called "a life saving human right" and "institutionalized forced sterilization" in the same breath with no hint of irony or awareness. Other fun contradictions Labelle's ilk have screamed about in the past few years:
Gender neutral bathrooms (create a safe space for / insult and out) trans kids.
Gender stereotypes are a (disgusting, out of date idea that need to be challenged and torn down / source of extreme euphoria for trans people #dressgospinny)
A young boy playing with dolls mean (nothing, anyone can enjoy dolls / that kids is trans! That's how I knew I was trans as a kid too OMG!)
Kinks are (nothing to be ashamed of and should be embraced buy my pedo furry art / disgusting if they show a preference towards one set of genitalia and you need to unlearn that harmful shit)
You don't get to (decide what a trans person finds insulting or triggering so watch your mouth / consider terf an insult, you TERF)
All pronouns and sexualities are valid (feel free to make your own! / except super straight, then we'll threaten to rape your mom)
Biologically, between bio men and woman's bodies, there are (very few differences between bio men and women's bodies, so put transwomen in every women's sport and bathroom! / a ton of differences which is why the government should just give us free hormones', surgery, hair removal and a new wardrobe)
They kind of go on an on. Pull any thread of their arguments and you'll be lead back to a contradictory claim they made the week before which is one of the big reasons no one should take this shit seriously.
Lets dispel a few more trans fave myths while we're here WITH CITATIONS:
Trans Myth: Transgender people are being killed for being trans with alarming regularity.
Truth: According to statistic done in 2016 trans people have the lowest murder rate of any other demographic in the US.
Source. This write up is seriously amazing (and I believe I found it because of someone in one of these threads so thank you!) and the author did all the digging through official statistic sources for multiple years and areas for us (so I guess I'm citing her citations technically). Sorry I don't know how to link to specific places in the article but search for the header "Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics".
Trans Myth: The Stonewall riots were started by Marsha P. Johnson, a black transwoman. You're welcome, LGB.
Truth: Those on the scene know the violence began when "a typical New York City butch" put up a huge fight (possibly
Storme DeLarvarie but that has been up for debate) while being arrested at the raid of a gay bar and when she was finally taken down she yelled "Why don't you guys do something?" That's when the violence started.
Marsha P. Johnson even denied starting the riots.
Source. One of many, look for any 1st hand accounts from people who were there.
Trans Myth: Trans people are being actively oppressed in first world countries.
Truth: Trans people have the same rights as any other group in first world countries. They can wear what they like without fear of arrest, they can marry who they like and it will be legally binding, they cannot legally be fired from a job or denied services simply for being trans and in countries were it is applicable (like Canada) they are offered the same healthcare and pension benifits as everyone else.
All that other stuff they want? Access to private (as in not public, like a privately owned women's only gym) spaces or private services (as in not public, like women's only bikini waxing) or not having to pay for cosmetic services or surgeries (hair removal, GRS)? Those are not
rights and no
rights are being denied when you are not given those things.
And some of the things people like Labelle declare as their "right" actually defy common sense.
No one group has the
right to have their preferred gender on their ID, much like all the information on your ID it is not what you've chosen but actual, confirmable facts about you used to verify your identity in times of need.
Your hair colour doesn't change on it every time you dye it, and having an "F" on there can lead to the paramedics giving you the wrong dose of emergency meds.
Source.
Trans Myth: No one is telling lesbians they HAVE to like dick.
