Josh is personally named as a defendant in this case. Supporting him as a person does not mean you support Kiwi Farms itself. For example, soup kitchens provide meth heads with meals, but in doing so are not supporting those meth heads' independent nocturnal bicycle repair businesses. Etc.
In this case, though, they're participating in a lawsuit "replete with bad-faith accusations lodged against the Defendants' attorney, Mr. Skordas. This brief is wholly improper. It does nothing to shore up Mr. Greer's case, nor does it give the court pause about granting the Defendants' motion to dismiss."

In other words, they are participating in vexatious litigation themselves if they familiarize themselves with the record and then continue to pursue frivolous legal arguments and allegations that would be actionably defamatory if made outside of a legal filing.

And unlike Greer, they probably have money to collect. And it could put a nice shit-stain on their resume to start their career with sanctions.

The latter.
Gotcha. Yeah, that is a lot harder. Although if this happens in Federal Court it could get banned further than just that state. Again, very rare.

One of the more interesting cases is In re Sindram, 498 U.S. 177 (1991) where, to put in mildly, the Supreme Court was very pissed. The plaintiff in that case has filed "twenty-fourth filing before this Court in the October 1990 Term alone" and "In the last three years, he has filed 42 separate petitions and motions, including 21 petitions for certiorari, 16 petitions for rehearing, and 2 petitions for extraordinary writs. " The Court was so mad it "den[ied] in forma pauperis status to petitioner in this and all future petitions for extraordinary relief." The court noted that "Petitioner remains free under the present order to file in forma pauperis requests for relief other than an extraordinary writ" but warned it would take that away too if the Petitioner abused it.

Tasmanian Devil - Attorney at Law won’t ever stop the litigation attempts.

It's going to be interesting! If they picked this case on a keyword search for "fair use", or whatever, it means they don't know who they're dealing with. Russell will not accept any instructions to stop filing diary entries with the court.

What's great about Russ is that on the surface he'd look like your ideal defendant: visibly disabled, victimized by all. When they realize what's actually going on these legal eagles might regret their choices.

What I'm looking forward to is when Russhole inevitably decides to file his own shit on the lawsuit instead of letting his "nonprofit" lawyers handle it all. It's what he did during his criminal case for electronic communications harassment; per the docket information, Russhole wrote not one but two separate letters to the judge to just let him explain how he was somehow totes innocent of e-stalking even though he was pleading guilty. He even referenced writing those letters in his suit against Null, claiming that meant he wasn't actually guilty and Erika wasn't really his victim.

I doubt he'll be able to resist filing similar nonsense in this lawsuit, especially if his new lawyers do what I suspect they will and drop all "Kiwi Farms says mean things about me, make them stop!" demands from his appeal.

Wait til they read what he has filed and what a mess it is.
They may just go with it knowing they will lose.
This is strange for Russ to take help especially since he said "I am best" in his IG post.
Could our deformed goblin had a second of awareness? NAHHHH!

fucking hell. null do u wanna do a gives n go for the legal fees? apparently theyre not as fucky as kickstarter idk. can't believe someone would help this guy with his frivolous bullshit.
He should just do a sitewide fundraiser like Wikipedia, but with less forcing you to read their spiel every time you go to a new page. If the entire board knew this was this serious, there'd be a goodly amount coming in pretty dang fast.

He keeps putting it on the front page. If people can't read that, nothing will help.

I have a feeling they might ignore Russ’s arguments and copypasta their own beliefs on Fair Use from previous cases.

This is going to the Supreme Court. Chaos ending. Vested money interests that want to gut section 230 have decided this shit hole is the perfect defendant to end the fair use criticism doctrine.

Everyone grab your bow ties and tuxedos. And prepare to send Null a shit ton of money because...its happening. And absolutely nobody is going to help..not the Electronic Frontier Foundation, not the ACLU. Nobody. Nobody wants to be affiliated with this place. This was always bound to happen, but for Russ of all people to be chosen as the hill to die on.

In the Supreme Court of the United States Greer v. Moon. On trial? Section 230. Fair Use.

Clown world.

I never go to the front page. I have 7 browser tabs open to the 7 pages that I follow here, and when I finish reading, I use the OneTab plugin (which is compatible with Brave as well as Chrome) to close those tabs and save them as links to re-open later (that's what OneTab does. It freed up lots of RAM from when I was keeping numerous browser windows with numerous tabs open so that I could keep track of what I was doing in various places). I never see any of the messages on the front page because of this. Using the message at the top of the page, like has been done for a number of other messages, would catch the attention of people like myself.

Personally, I plan on figuring out a way to make a monthly donation without compromising my anonymity here once I can afford to do something like this again.

My suggested solution is on record: selling the title "Russell Greer is homo" for $100.

"Dudes, it's happening! Three lawyers are gonna do some magic rub some money that they god from big corp (despite no evidence) and it's gonna magic it up and SCOTUS is gonna agree to rule on this case despite the fact that it would be a gigantic waste of their time and despite there being no potential presidential or national significance. Four Judges will insta-vote to hear it! BE AFRAID! DOOM! DOOM!"

Keep jerking off to fear-porn, I guess, if you like that sorta thing. Let's talk reality. Mathematically Russ has only (at best) 2.14% chance to get his case heard by SCOTUS. If we don't use best case senario, it falls to 1.42%. Let's take these both numbers and calculate an average. That's be 1.78%.

The case acceptance rate is a bit of a misnomer. It ignores factors like stupid appeals by say Melinda Scott. The Supreme Court has been looking for potential cases to deal with the digital age for awhile.
