So if your INFANT is spiking a 104°F fever, are you supposed to sit around and hope it’s just a simple cold? Until… what? The baby either gets better or starts convulsing from febrile seizures? Until its head swells up like a hot air balloon? Then you shock vibrate purify it with your fancy repackaged TENS unit? Rub essential oils on your living baby Beauchene and hope for the best? WHAT, Robyn?

Why would anyone take medical advice or buy some bullshit “healing” contraption from this woman who mangled her kid due to her own narcissism and sheer ineptitude? Then didn’t even notice? Then claimed to be some kind of “empath”? FUCK I hate her. 🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩

No, obviously you give it honey so it gets a secondary bacterial infection and follow that up with silver just in case the honey doesn't finish the job.

I would have more respect for Robyn if she were in some kind of kooky Charles Darwin death cult. Like, only the strongest and healthiest babies should survive, so if your kid's brain cooks from a 105 degree fever it's Charles' will. Instead this dumb bitch, who as far as I can tell hasn't ever even taken an extended hike let alone have a meaningful connection to nature, keeps posting this stupid fluff about how ~mother nature luvs us all~ and anything and everything that happens will only lead to good things.

The extent to which crunchy moms on the Internet encourage each other not to treat fevers and pain in children is honestly terrifying. I first noticed it around ten years ago. Apparently if your baby is inconsolable with teething pain, you just need to try to distract them. Except for anyone who’s experienced the hell of tooth pain, we know damn well that singing and clapping and waving toys around won’t do shit.

Fevers are extremely dangerous for young children. You don't play around when your kid has an abnormal temperature. If rotating tylenol and motrin doesn't help take the kid to urgent care or the ER because you can end up causing severe harm (including death) if you ignore a fever. Call the doctors office too so they know what's going on.

Honey isn't going to do shit other than make your sick kid sticky and make them even more sick

Aren't you not supposed to give tylonel to a child because of the chance of steven johnson syndrome?

I am totally fine with Robyn poisoning herself.
Well, she supposedly breast feeds Atlas and gives luna breast milk in her feeding tube.

So, (if she is to be believed) she is potentially fucking up little dude too.
Holy shit. I know that the risk of brain damage and seizure isn't as high as once thought, but 106 is not what I'd call "harmless."

It depends on a number of factors. If it is atlas with that kind of fever he should be seen at urgent care or in the hospital asap. If it is Luna, I think she should be made comfortable.

Also? If children (not infants) on either side of the family spike high fevers when sick and don’t have febrile seizures, 104-106 could regularly be part of a normal course of illness but it should always be treated appropriately by managing the fever.

Ideally, get their temperature down and get them seen by a doctor asap. Honey and vitamins isn’t going to fix shit when the child actually needs antibiotics and/or medications that (for example) reduce how much they cough so they can actually rest, sleep and heal.

If she isn’t careful, Robyn is going to diy some shit when atlas is sick and he’ll end up with something like complications from an easily treatable strep infection or she’s going to give him botulism via raw honey on top of being sick and she won’t even notice until it is a medical emergency or beyond because she’ll be happy he’s not moving as much and causing as many irritations for her like usual. :(

A low dose of baby tylenol is typically safe for infants because it's given based on weight. It's easily taught by your kid's doctor as it's simple math (or the nurse in the ER but they tend to judge you more). Of course, if the child has a poor reaction to any medication you shouldn't use it but it's usually okay under your doctor's guidance.

I remembered who Luna reminded me of today.

>mushrooms
Never in my life have I heard of someone recommending mushrooms for fever. What kind of mushrooms Robyn??? The magic ones? The regular edible forest mushrooms that make a tasty sauce? I doubt the fever-ridden infant will care, beyond possibly getting irritated bowels as well.

I mean I guess if you make a nice warm soup with mushrooms it might help, but yeah Robyn is full of shit

This thread was up and at 'em when Atlas was born, so we know exactly how old he is (since Robyn loves documenting every second of her life). He's just a brilliant toddler with a bright future ahead of him. I'm genuinely looking forward to when his little toddler noises become meaningless word salads that he happily chirps out.

Actually, on second thought, Robyn would use that to her advantage. She'd tell him in her insufferable narc voice "Can you say, 'I love you, sissy?'" "Can you say 'Yaaaay, Sissy!'" "Can you say, 'Buy Healys off the link in our bio?'" :(
I hope he discovers books. For some of us, learning to read was our only escape.

That's aspirin
I think you are thinking of Reye syndrome, which is a rapidly progressive and devastating constellation of symptoms primarily affecting the brain and liver, almost always occuring in children (median age at diagnosis is 6 years), frequently after a viral illness such as varicella (chickenpox) or influenza. It's associated with aspirin use, which is why FDA and others strongly recommend against giving aspirin to children and teenagers and why none of the children's pain reliever/fever reducer medications currently marketed in the United States contain aspirin. Public health officials in other countries, including the United Kingdom and France, also strongly recommend against the use of aspirin in infants and children. Since the early to mid 1990s, when these guidelines were initially issued, diagnosed cases of Reye syndrome have decreased by more than 90%.

Reye syndrome is very scary because the hallmark encephalopathy can progress at lightning speed and seemingly with no provocation.
Kids can go from apparently fine to completely obtunded and comatose within hours. Early diagnosis is key. Unfortunately, though, initial symptoms are nondescript and similar to those of many childhood viral illnesses and include lethargy, an unremarkable rash, headache, and vomiting. Affected children may have nightmares or insomnia. As the encephalopathy progresses, more specific symptoms of brain damage develop, including confusion, sleepiness, stupor, intractable seizures, and hyperreflexia. Severe liver damage can be demonstrated via biopsy. Within hours to days, the brain continues to swell and the child becomes unrousable, then deeply comatose. Decerebrate or decorticate posturing, a sign of profound damage to the brain can occur, as can abnormal flaccidity or hypotonia. The child's pupils stop reacting to light, becoming fixed and dilated. Seizures continue. In the final stages of the illness, hypoammonemia (an abnormally elevated level of ammonia in the blood), respiratory arrest, multiple organ failure develop, although at this stage, the liver damage may actually appear to get better.

There is no treatment for Reye syndrome. The overall mortality rate is almost 40%, and children who do survive usually have severe to profound neurological deficit.

Don't give aspirin to kids! ❤️

Speaking of adorable kids babbling to their parents, please have a video of exactly that.

Hope Atlas gets the opportunity to show off soon as well, since they record every waking minute as it is.

Both of these replies are good info, and they both mention a doctor's care. That's the primary thing missing from Mrs. Instagram Healer. She's not saying "look, a fever of 106 might run its course, go to the doctor but don't flip out." She's flat-out saying "it's harmless, give them honey and the ingredients for a nice pasta." Continuing to advise people to ignore "shit- maybe get the baby to the pediatrician tomorrow just in case" -levels of illness after her magical home birthing experience created a zombie is pathologically irresponsible.
