old school conspiracy theory (pre-2016 when it got all stupid and political) states that the New World Order (old name for globohomo) will use a series of steps and projects to enact the plan of bringing about a One World Government. Of these series of steps, all of which have happened, the final one is to fake an alien invasion. The theory behind this is that the population will hand over total control and power to the governments to thwart these alien invaders. Once control has been taken, and the 'aliens' defeated, the governments DON'T hand back control. Sound familiar? Swap aliens with virus and...well shit, it doesn't look good.

How does one even fake an alien invasion? It was a better move to change it into a virus since it matches social fears way better (hey, what they are doing is evil but I wont pretend it isnt genius on its own right).

Because these laws are 19th/early 20th century emergency laws meant to control outbreaks of typhoid, smallpox, yellow fever, etc. It's a lot more reasonable when you have an actually deadly disease around. Nobody who drafted these laws could ever have imagined they'd be abused over a glorified cold. They'd assume any mayor/politician who supported that would be removed from office as being criminally insane, not a single cop would enforce the law in that case because it's self-evidently fucking stupid, and not a single citizen would obey they law for the same reason.

It is a little perplexing how none of them were ever rewritten after the 20th century saw abuse after abuse of emergency laws to legitimize every dictator from Hitler to El Presidente in his third world shithole, but those laws were usually meant to be used in a state of war or serious civil disorder. Instead they got used because some dude tried to burn a building or a guy the CIA said was a commie wanted to run for some public office. No one ever used public health laws like that presumably because everyone knew an epidemic was a self-evident event and not something you had to spend millions and millions of dollars to market to people like you were selling cars or cigarettes.

IIRC, the whackier versions of the theory claim that the elites have advanced holographic projectors, which they'll use to con everyone into believing that aliens are coming. The less whacky have it that there'll just be a mass media push, with a bunch of astroturfed sightings, accompanied by the anointing of an official narrative by the news media. Arguing that it's fake will get you called a conspiracy theorist who spreads misinformation.

I personally think the whole thing is unlikely, but then I thought a lot of things were unlikely in 2019 that subsequently became the accepted norm in 2020, so what do I know?

In regards to pilots and blood clots, what happens when you spend enough time at a higher altitude is that you slowly begin to get an increase in the concentration of hemoglobin in the blood to compensate for the decrease in O2 due to lower atmospheric pressure. That increase causes the blood to become more viscous. Basically with enough time your blood becomes thicker and possibly more prone to clotting.

Although airliners have pressurized cabins, they're not pressurized to sea level. The constant cycle of pressurize then de-pressurize puts a lot of stress on the airframe over time. To reduce that stress most commercial aircraft are pressurized to the equivalent of 8000ft above sea level.

The effects of altitude sickness generally do not show up until you're above 10,000 feet, so it was determined that 8000 feet was the best compromise between airframe longevity and the safety of the passengers and crew. As was mentioned earlier in the thread, pilots are seated and sedentary and spend much of their time at the equivalent of 8000ft. Add those factors to "thick" blood and the clot inducing properties of the coof shot, and you've got a serious problem.

You never hear about China tackling covid in international news either. The western media stopped paying attention the moment things got bad in their own backyards, and the only time you hear about third world countries dealing with covid in the news is when the governments in the developed world want to justify more lockdowns and mandates.
