Looks like Chesterfield now so roughly hour and half away, but that's not awful so I can definitely see him going over to help. Seems like a really well put together family and it's such a contrast compared to Barb's.

Wondering if a son went with him? It's cut off but Chris writes "[...] as well as Wayne Weston." so to me that might be multiple people?
Maybe we'll get more actual information when this inevitably spawns letters questioning this one.

Entirely possible AND I will note that neither Adam nor Kevin appear to be married, but Virginia's public marriage records only go up to 2014.

(The only other Weston cousin who isn't married is Aunt Corrina's son Van Wade Carey (1960) and I strongly suspect he's the fabled autistic cousin mentioned in the psych evaluation documents...)

Edit: Curtis Wayne was the baby of the family, born in 1950, so he's likely the most able to support Barb.

Edit 2: Also he and Harriet are the ONLY siblings still alive, and Harriet seems to have (understandably) washed her hands of Chandlers, so he's the ONLY family support Barb has left...

Edit 4 (autism!): For the sake of completism, here's Bob's siblings; note that all of the half siblings are younger than even Barb's baby brother Wayne... it's a shame that the Chandlers didn't reach out to them and make friends while Bob was still alive - although for the sake of the Chandler half-siblings, they're probably better off not knowing Barb and Chris (but tbf, I wish Bob had known them better)...

If this is true, then the situation for Chris just got a bazillion times worse.

Primarily; Barb. If she sustained critical injuries like that then I'd be shocked if she isn't forced into a home of some sort, because really that shit ain't EVER going to heal at her age and as we know the Chandler financials are in such a state that they wouldn't be able to afford any kind of medical procedure. I mean, a fucking HEAD injury? I can't even imagine the kind of damage that likely would have done.

Secondarily: the van. That thing was the only mode of transportation Chris had after losing the Focus or whatever the car was (which I think he was still supposed to be paying off even now?). There's no way he's going to be able to obtain another car, even a shitty used one, since we're still in the middle of the chip shortage and used cars are extremely valuable right now for that reason. If Chris somehow gets out of jail without being sent to assisted living, his only real recourse is going to be using a rideshare service like Lyft or Uber, and THAT wouldn't end well for all sorts of reasons.

Chris said he was Jesus because he endured trials, but fuuuuuuuck, fate is just absolutely fucking him over in the latter half of 2021. The only way it probably could get worse is if 14BC just spontaneously burst into flames again and was reduced to its foundation.

Oh, this has been coming for a LONG time coming. We all knew Barb dying was going to be a shitshow, but now the van's completely out of the picture regardless if Barb lives or dies which twists that knife even farther.

How would you verify this? If the only source is Chris, I wouldn’t. He could be delusional, lying to get money, influenced by a ween pretending to be Barb/other family members, or all 3.

I doubt Barb would’ve written him (and even if she has in the past, she wouldn’t be in a condition to write him after the accident) and all other family has cut ties, so he’d have no way of knowing, except jail staff.

Only way to confirm sonchu is gone is if a local member in ruckersville goes down for a look.... I'd rather no one did though.

Aren’t there publicly available records of police activities that could tell us if a car crash with injuries happened in the area on the supposed date? I know I won’t say “Officers dispatched to wreck involving Sonic the Hedgehog’s incest mini-van” or anything, but I believe some areas would have enough to at least show that it didn’t happen if that was the case

I'm thinking at worst, concussion or milder a bruise on the forehead/scalp but either way it's not gonna be good for her mentally and memory-wise...could Barb even hunker down in Branchland out of sheer stubborn spite?

@Second-Hand Boat Supplies, local police websites are available depending on the counties with public records and if you're a Government employee you can easily access them, but I'm not sure they'll add crashes. Arrests, definitely.
