Noticed the other day how Republican school districts in my city had masks optional versus liberal districts had them mandatory. Which I feel like is a microcosm of the wider problem, people will let this all carry on because it's easier than demanding other people knock it off. Also doesn't help that many people don't challenge idiots for acting like the virus is going away as it's usually cloaked in slightly vague language like "I wish everyone would get vaccinated so this could just be over" or "this'll never end until we do X", that usually requires a bit of prodding to get them to admit they think the 'end' is the virus being no more. The Followers type bother me the most. It's all of my in-laws. They say it's not a big deal that schools require masks because it won't be forever (it is forever in the mindset of a child) despite there being no discussed end points. I know actual doctors who think cloth masks stop all viruses. I know wealthy boomers who haven't left their gigantic houses and play video games all day and call people who complained about the lockdowns "idiots" . The amount of cognitive dissonance is astounding. And apparently no one has empathy anymore, it's all manufactured empathy for virtual signaling points.
