On one hand odsyee like a bunch of the other 'alt tech' sites comes off looking like its run by immature spergs. On the other Rumble is more corporate and seems willing to censor speech Its unfortunate that those seem to be the only paths these companies take.

They are.
It's pretty ironic that Odysee accuses Rumble of fudging numbers when you can manipulate Odysee views by simply opening more tabs. Odysee tech is garbage and the people running it are idiots.

You take that back! Thomas Zarebczan is a paragon of virtue, a consummate professional who definitely did not suck Ethan Ralph's shit covered thumb and totally didn't very publicly expose the fact he doesn't know what fair use is.

pretty sure you can also do something similar with youtube by just setting up videos as a playlist and autoplaying it.
Should also note that when people say inflating numbers artificially they usually mean an automated system used to push new channels. As in one view sometimes equating to two. or bot accounts that leave likes and comments. TikTok used to do it to get more users and i frankly have not seen this happen on Odysee. Numbers are just low there.

I'm specifically talking about live viewers for streams. With Odysee, you can open up the stream page in a hundred tabs and see the viewer count reflect that. Then close them all and see the viewer count drop. You don't even have to play the video itself. You can have adblock block all JS and it'll still count the page load as a live viewer.

They both should go, only because they both fall on the first hurdle.

Rumble demands your phone number in order to be "verified" so you can start uploading shit while Odysee uses a retarded "credits" system where you can't upload videos unless you have enough of them, and you can only get them by either giving them money or watching other videos (which if their front page is anything to go by looks like the same safe normalfag shit they try to force onto people on YouTube). That, plus I used one of my emails that I regularly use on a daily basis to sign up and immediately got bombarded with spam up the fucking ass, so I had to nuke that email account.

Bitchute is the only one (so far) that seems to have gotten it right by not only letting you upload videos right away with no restrictions, but allows crypto for payments if you want to upgrade your account.
