The slide was designed like a ski jump, it regularly got air and the only "safety feature" keeping it from flying entirely off the side of the slide was a catch fence designed very similarly to what is used in circle track racing where that design has also decapitated people. It was inevitable that someone was going to die on that slide and frankly it's good that the kid was a Senator's son because that meant sorely needed new safety regulations got fast tracked.

There's actually a show about the building of this ride that aired on The Travel Channel called Xtreme Waterparks.

Anyway in testing with a few hundred pounds in sandbag weight this tended to happen. They actually redesigned it a bit before the final ride was open to the public.

The issue was the safety factor regardless, it really did not take much to create a worst case scenario.

This is a video with audio of an ambush gun battle in which 5 people died and another was wounded in Puerto Rico. Full auto weapons were used heavily. The Ambushee's for a time fire back before succumbing to their wounds.

I like how Fatty Gonzalez distracts a wounded homie long enough to get him zapped in the secondary assault; and white-shirt who strolls out with a cerveza, forgets to unsafe his pistol, and doesn't finally drop the bottle until the sweet release of a full-auto burst at point-blank does it for him.

There was definitely two AKs in the mix, along with at least two FA pistols and/or micro-SMGs. This video has it all, and its been a long time since I've seen a shootout this meaty.

Edit: one of the FA pistols has a weird shape, almost Walther/Bersa-ish.
