General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

or people moving to twitch.
From the Twitch Music Guidelines:
Here are some example types of music content you may not use in Twitch streams or on-demand content:
  • Karaoke Performance – Singing or performing to a karaoke recording other than an in-game karaoke performance that is licensed for you to share on Twitch.

EDIT: Okay, so the rrat here is that Nijisanji is requesting the removal of the third party products from DLsite so that people won't be confused with unofficial Niji products with the official ones when looking through the store

Pretty poor way of handling things imo, it shouldn't effect too many artists (most r18 Niji artists use DMM or Booth anyways) but artists really help promote vtubers. Gundou Mirei actually retweeted one of the people upset by this lol.

Where does Ollie fall into this?
Nowhere because ID works in different way than EN or JP branches.
because she's collabing with different people within the vtuber realm.
That one. Nobody here really likes anitubers and it has been proven that associating with them isn't the best idea.
Yes i know this is ironic coming from a deadbeat but you don't have to like everything Mori does.

Hey, the record companies are just trying to protect their content from thieves, you know.

Like, I was strongly considering buying a 25-year-old Backstreet Boys CD just to hear "I Want It That Way", but then a smol blonde gremlin in a bee costume screeched that song out off-key a couple months ago, so I was satisfied and no longer needed to make my purchase. They missed out on a sale. They gotta crack down on that shit!

Disclaimer: Yes, I'm aware that VTuber karaoke streams are collateral damage, not the actual target of this change. But the fact that they are collateral damage is just a symptom of how broken the system is anyway.

I don't think associating with anitubers was a bad idea for Mori. Trash Taste is a popular program - their videos get more views than those of any vtuber - and they reach an audience that has a lot of people who are receptive of vtubers (weebs) but who aren't all preexisting vtuber fans. There are tons of casual fans who pretty much just watch whatever Crunchyroll or Netflix is shilling each season, and anitubers are really popular with them. Most of those people have yet to really get into vtubers. Mori collabing with them makes sense imo, and the same goes for other vtubers.

The only negative things to come out of Mori's collabs with them is that she ends up being associated with them, and they do tend to say dumb things about vtubers. That being said, the drama regarding that stuff is massively blown out of proportion. The clip of Connor saying that being in Hololive instantly gets you tons of fans for example attracted basically no attention until it was dug up by /vt/ ages after the stream happened, and the drama was mostly restricted to 4chan, here, and some people on Reddit. The vast majority of fans don't care nearly as much about gossip as we do lol.

That being said, it's certainly true that being a fan of a vtuber doesn't mean that you have to like everything they do.

I don't know why people think Twitch is this free, rebellious and liberated experience when they've been harder on streamers than Youtube for years, even banning people for licensed sound effects in MMOs like WoW. Have people forgotten they're owned by Amazon?
DrDisrespect would disagree with you and say that streaming on Youtube is harder

Planned ASMR Stream collab by Niji with DLSite has been cancelled

People say it's most likely to do with them trying to remove Niji hentai from DLsite

In a bit of weird news, Anykara is requesting the removal of Nijisanji hentai in DL-site. This is in spite of their new collab with them to release official Nijisanji ASMR

So apparently all derivative works on DLSite are removed, including the hentai and lewd works. That's definitely big, I think all the artist affected are anxious whether or not other storefronts are going to be sent the C&D as well

Attacking porn of your IP never works and I await the failure due to how much Japan loves porn.

So besides Niji trying to show us how to properly shotgun your foot, FF7 Remake is coming to PC. I wonder if any of the HoloJP girls will redo their playthroughs.

Bae scored lower than IRyS jesus christ.
So much for Bae having the highest IQ in Hololive English.

Twitter space it is then! I kid. The thought of an end to owl song makes me sad.

Yeah, Lui kinda have a niche aura to her contents, and the format of debuting as Ganmo also didn't help at all. I'm much more surprised with Koyori's and Iroha's numbers, too low than I expected for the Coyote, and higher for the samurai.

With Iroha saying she had english skill, and Chloe saying she studied english for 3 month prior to debut (although I suspect she's much more fluent than that), I think its kind of confirmed at this point Cover put into consideration the candidates language skill during recruitment
I also thought Lui's lower numbers were due to the Ganmo debut (even though I watched it live because I am too easily amused), and having the lowest peak live viewers (25.8k) seems to bear that out, but Iroha was the second lowest by a narrow margin (29k) and yet made the most. Comparing the content of their superchat celebration streams:
La+: Karaoke
Lui: Ganmo's debut
Koyori: Celebrating release from Twitter jail/talk/karaoke
Iroha: Talk/drawing

Council's superchat celebrations:
Kronii: $45.4k, 14.6k peak live viewers
Mumei: $20.8k, 8.8k
Sana: $19.5k, 6.6k
Baelz: $14.8k, 5.7k
Fauna: $6.9k, 12.6k

Regarding Gen 6's language skill, someone pointed out that this is the first JP gen to debut after Myth. The appeal to an overseas market is now something even Japanese middle managers can't deny.

In other news, Botan likes hurting other people:

And in half an hour, Sakamata will drown in money.

Gura doing voicework for ads now. Huh.
Girl's come full-circle.

Taku Inoue x Mori Calliope MV was reuploaded.
Apparently there was audio issue in the old one.
Some said that it was mono in the old one.
I guess this collab has been teased from Inoue's side from back in October. Dropped out of nowhere but figured that's just me being out of the fucking loop.
