So just a random thought. Do you think those two mods are going to continue being mods? Or are they getting thrown under the bus for setting this cracker situation into motion and costing Hasan a whole week of streaming. (implying Twitch doesn't let him come back early on "good behavior" that he's currently exhibiting) Because according to our resident roach, he never even used the word prior to this event.

The only people who have ever taken the word cracker seriously is niggers. They WANT it to piss us off so fucking badly, but it just doesn't.
And what really pisses them off is when you call them out. Because they'll say "It's not a SERIOUS slur!" and I'll remind them that neither is Sambo, or Darkie, or Jigaboo, or Moon Cricket, or Groid, or Jungle Bunny, or Melon Muncher. None of those will offend a black man nearly as much as the dreaded Nigger word, and yet they'll still get pissed off if you say ANY of them because the slurs are born from racism.
But cracker, despite being another minor and relatively inoffensive slur, is also born of racism. Doesn't matter if it offends the target, you're still a racist for using it.
And they REALLY hate that. They hate having their most potent weapon, accusations of racism, ripped from their hands and rammed up their asses. And they'll make all sorts of excuses about how not only is it not racist, black people can't be racist at all because muh redefinition.

It isn't equal. He would've been permabanned on twitch immediately if he said nigger. He also would've been immediately permabanned from twitter too if he went there to repeat the word and defend himself over it.

I guess Hasan forgot that freedom of speech doesn't apply to private platforms and doesn't mean freedom from consequences. Twitch gave him chances to get off easy, even deleting his VODs from the past few days, but he didn't realize they were doing this to protect him and he decided to die on the hill of "insulting people on the basis of skin color is not racism".

If you don't wanna read Twitter for obvious reasons, here's a run-down of some common defenses of Hasan I've seen:
  • Cracker, a term originally used to refer to white slaveowners, and is now used exclusively to refer to white people, is not racially-prejudiced when used as an insult.
  • Calling someone a cracker isn't offensive because it refers to people with institutional power, even if said power is seen as immoral by society (in other words, it's like saying that insultingly calling a German a Nazi isn't offensive because Nazis held institutional power)
  • It is impossible to be racist against white people because the only kind of racism that exists is systemic racism.
  • White people deserve to be insulted and antagonized for the actions of their ancestors they had no say in.
  • Hasan is white (when it's convenient), so he's allowed to call other white people crackers. Some people are comparing this to how it's OK for black people to say "nigga". However, I think a better comparison would be how black people are allowed to call other black people coons when they have different political beliefs, the same thing Hasan was doing with calling people crackers.
  • Everyone who is offended from being called a cracker is a racist white guy who goes out of their way to justify saying "nigga" every chance they get.
  • Everyone who is offended from being called a cracker is a Redditor who goes out of their way to justify calling people retarded every chance they get.
  • Cracker only refers to "the bad ones" and if you're offended that includes you (this is a common defense of any antagonizing blanket statement against a demographic when it starts getting backlash).
  • If you say cracker is a racial slur, you're automatically saying that it's just as offensive as other racial slurs with different, more harmful contexts used against different people.
  • No one is offended from being insultingly called cracker ever, despite Hasan being banned for exactly that.
  • If all else fails, just keep calling detractors crackers until they leave.

Scrolling through tweet threads on this, Hasan's "audience" comes off as a lot of self-hating, young, white adults trying to be hip with reaction gifs featuring black culture and more than ready to take the bullet for being white. I'll never understand these types that get hosed into believing it's their duty to be on the right side of history. Then again, these are the same people that rally behind an unironic millionaire that has had everything handed to him while posing as an advocate for socialism and dismantling capitalism. Not a very bright bunch.

Remember that fucking Hasan is a god damn Turk. The same cultural group that ran the slave markets and land routes from Africa, India, and the Mediterranean (I won't forget the barbary states motherfuckers). The sheer size of the flesh markets and human suffering they caused easily dwarfs the European triangle trade.

There is some "Cultural history of oppression" for that god damn fucking roach.
