Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Wait, didn't President Trump give more money in stimulus checks than Biden? $1800 versus $1400? That ball's been rolling for a little while now.
A lot of people have no clue how relatively narrow business margins can be. They see the massive amount of cash that a company makes and don't consider expenses or how much those expenses scale with the size of the comapny.
Especially if you're talking about an IHOP in Alaska. But then again, they do have Starbucks in Utah, so I also might not be the best one to ask about what businesses might flourish where!

That is... honestly besides the point.

Utilizing DineEquity's 2016 10-K form: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/49754/000004975416000018/din-12312015x10k.htm

The company owns 2,033 Applebees and 1,672 IHOP locations as of that date. Franchising limits costs, but you find some interesting things under the Financial Data. They show a total revenue of 681.1 and a total cost of revenues of 282.1. Gross profit 399.0.

Right, thats in millions, surely then they can afford more right? And that right there is where people stop looking. Lets go further.

All people think is this:

When what really matters is this:

Net income, accounting for all operating expenses, goes from 399.0 to... 104.9.

This again is only operating income, not including anything else outside of operations. You can likely see how this goes down the line.

It remains amusing but confusing why Joe keeps pushing for vaccine mandates after they keep getting struck down or put on hold by the courts. Do they think that eventually everyone will get worn down by the constant back and forth and say "okay fine we'll get the vax if you just shut up about it" and they'll win in the end? Is Big Pharma pulling the strings and demanding infinite boosters so they can keep the gravy train rolling? Or is it just a case of the administration's incompetence and inability to stop doing something stupid over and over?

Like seriously, bruh, take the L. No matter what scary Greek letter you put in front of the latest "variant," everyone but the diehard Branch Covidians are done with this shit, and we can ignore them or make fun of them until even they quit. Your approval on this was the only positive you had, and it's quickly becoming a negative with all the rest of the issues. Declare the pandemic over, sack Fauci if he bitches about it, and salvage what little you can from this shit.

On a side note, I went to my first hockey game in well over a decade a couple weeks ago. Not only did I have a lot of fun, I got to experience my first "Let's Go Brandon" chant in public. Truly, Biden is the Great Uniter he said he'd be.
Does it matter which Bible I bring? I'm a fan of the King James but there are some 'updated and modern' I can stand.
We use the NRSV in my church, which is a good balance of accurate to the source and readable, IMO. Still, KJV is always good, and I refuse to recite Psalm 23 in anything but.

Biden's handlers think, not spuriously mind, that SCOTUS will simply bitch out in response to media pressure. Roberts and Barrett have shown themselves susceptible.

Regarding the COVID questions, all three. You still have blue areas that think COVID will leave the US at Mad Max levels of civilization, Biden has always been beholden to big business and the administration is crippled. Mandates are the only thing he can do.

Biden is the equivalent of a corporation that "went woke and went broke." They abandoned a loyal base in search of the next big thing only to end up with a single product no one really wants but are too heavily invested to do anything else.

It seems Hillary plans on staying out of hiding... to cope and seethe about Trump. Come on, man. She hasn't even proposed anything constructive the Democrats could do, she's just whining about "the end of democracy".

Yeah, no shit. With Trump in office, having no 2nd term to worry about campaigning for and the most flagrant RINOs squeezed out? That America would be unrecognizable because the Republicans might not be totally cucked for once.

You lost because you look like you worship Moloch.
I'm loving her purple shirt and sweater combination. She looks distinguished.

Of course the truth caused anger among the Twitter crowd.

Full of vitriol and lecturing and never an ounce of introspection. Classic left wing response.
I'm the twitard who wants everyone to pay $40 for waffles so that some Tammy Fay looking diner waitress can send her kids to college.

KJV for pronouncements of Hellfire and Damnation, it works well for that. ESV for clarity and study. And never NIV, unless you're putting it in a sack to use as a bludgeon.

The sole exception to the "Democrats only congregate in cities" trend is that massive splotch of blue you see between Binghampton, Syracuse and Rochester - there's no major city there but it still voted +70 Biden.
That massive blue splotch is Tompkins county, which contains both Cornell University (25K students) and Ithaca college 6K students.

Cornell is an Ivy League university, which is why it's more heavily blue than Binghampton, Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse.

Nevada is an interesting state. Dean Heller is currently beating the incumbent Democrat governor by 7% in polls, said governor was elected by a 4% margin in 2018. Lends credence to the current view that Republicans will have a +10 advantage next year nationally thanks to Biden doing such a shit job.

Adam Laxalt, who Sisolak beat in '18, is even beating his opponent for the US Senate seat in Nevada. But given that he's gunning for the chick who succeeded Reid, we'll see if Harold's machine still works.
I'm hoping the Republicans poll a win like Virginia. After Virginia and New Jersy almost going red. I'm not fully out of hope

If it helps the hope, the Nevada DNC's money is rather drained. on top of the normal issues, a big member who got in was a Democratic Socialist which lead to a ton of Democrat foot soldiers jumping ship and taking their severance with them. So they had to regain the funds from elsewhere, kicking the can for further funding down the road. There is some stuff currently in BBB still left to help... paper over that wound. But it hasn't come yet so they will be short for cash if they need to do anything drastic.

In fact there is a -lot- of infighting going on in Nevada right now between the Democrat factions.

Good to hear.

People in positions of authority are really bad at admitting they've failed, especially when group consensus was reached, and tend to blame others for not obeying them carefully enough for the failures of their plans. The solution is typically to demand that we do whatever failed bigger, harder, and faster. That's all that's going on here (and the fact that 48 different Congressmen own Pfizer stock doesn't hurt).

This is a hard choice but California has a direct pipeline to Mexico which New York doesn't and Mexicans are much more conservative than Democrats realize. California is also ahead of New York's curve in terms of just letting illegal immigrants do shit they shouldn't be doing. Leftists are probably hoping that the Mexico to Texas pipeline will turn it blue but they're sadly mistaken in believing so.

Any illegal immigrant that votes Democrat is more likely to get deported for assault or murder than to actually get anywhere politically. Texas isn't soft on illegal immigrants like California is so they have zero motive to let illegal immigrants vote either, Texas is a Republican stronghold and remain as such until the end of time. In many ways, Texas is like the red California, if only Texas made movies & competed with Hollywood & would be the perfect rivalry.

This also goes without mentioning that Texas is currently attempting to wall off Mexico like Trump wanted to do.

Texas Republicans have been losing about 1 point of the electorate per year. It was R+21 in 2000, and was just R+6 in 2020. Given demographic trends in the state, and the way those demographics have been voting Texas is expected to flip blue no later than 2028. Texas has also been pretty soft on illegals, not as bad as California, but that's not saying much. This is because the big Republican donors in the state are cattle and oil guys, and they rely heavily on illegal labor. It's gOoD fOr bUsiNeSsEs, so the state GOP has always gone easy on businesses that violate labor laws by relying on border-jumpers. This changed in the last year because Greg Abbott is facing serious challenges from his right. He campaigned on cracking down on businesses who hire illegal aliens originally, but did a 180 as soon as he took office because of donor pressure.

I think even if we do get the magical blue Texas, Austin is literally the only place I've heard of in this "great migration" in which blue people are leaving for a red state. Everywhere else, center or center-right people are heading to purple or red states. So even if I think Texas is "lost", those electoral votes will be made up elsewhere. Hell, Florida isn't even a battleground state anymore.
