You don't have to be a boomer to see moral decay and degradation of trust and community cohesion, and you could be blind and still see the political polarization clearly from orbit. I'm most certainly not saying things were just peachy in the past, far from it, social problems abounded, and the solutions of the day were to hide and ignore them (which has obviously worked out well for us here in the present eh?), but we've become a low-trust society. There will be pockets of cohesion, in areas where the rot hasn't been too bad, and you will still see communties lending support to eachother during crisis, but I think its a bit naive to think that everyone will just come together for the right casus belli. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear I'm right.
